Could it just be an old ice box turned into cabinet storage space? Is there a fridge somewhere else? I would incorporate that into my kitchen if "old stuff" was my style. Looks like quartersawn oak which I love.

I think Mtn is right - it's a SZ with faux vintage cabinetry. I'd consider incorporating the real thing but no interest in fake.

A friend rescued an old icebox from the town ”dump” and uses it for general storage in the kitchen.

Does SubZero make the panels, or do you have to get a carpenter?

It’s an odd old house. Here’s a bathroom. It looks funky at first but nice tile, and then you see:

Subzero sells it "panel ready" and then your carpenter applies the front of your choosing.

I looked into true vintage old iceboxes and it is not practical for use in a primary K.

Lisaam, the Subzero design series and the Thermador Freedom Series don't have visible vent panels. They vent at the bottom in the toe kick area. The openings are they same they would be on a stainless front French door fridge.

Bpath, you have to find the person who can make the panels to your specs and the fridge's. Most people have panels that match their cabinets so they cabinet maker usually makes the panels. Some would probably enjoy a diffferent project and others would give it a hard pass.

I might consider the look if I lived in a 100 year old or older home, but I don't. As it is, I passed on the designer series altogether because the interior has less space and can't hold a half sheet baking pan or large cookie sheet. I really love that the classic does.

@Lyban zone 4 it is a rain shower. I have a similar set up in our full bath downstairs off our mud room entrance. The one pictured is smaller . Ours works perfectly for the grands before they set foot into the house from camp! c

Jilly, laughed out loud at morgue drawers. I had a HUGE box (6-8 ft long and at least 18 inches deep),with flourescent tube lights over my island when we bought the house. It had custom trim to match the cabinets. When the workers took it down, it came in one piece and sat out on the driveway temporarily. We joked about moving it to the front lawn and putting a skeleton in it for Halloween. If they had the ones that appear to be rising up out of the ground them I think I would have done it. With a morgue drawers fridge, we could have had a theme going.

1929Spanish, I tend to agree. I've learned not to say never, but yeah. If I wanted a statement fridge, I'd look at a True that is very modern with some old school details - and probably in blue. Your comment reminded me that my first house will be 100 years old next year. I would "never" consider that fridge treatment for that house.

Yep, it's a wet bath. Everything gets wet. Including the toilet paper right next to it!

Lol Jilly re the drawers. We have a vintage ice box - in our great room. I store books in it!!

@jsk ours has no enclosure. It’s a wet room shower very tiny. Nothing else gets wet though because we tilt the rain shower head.

We had 2 wet room very large bathrooms in our 1890 home in AL. They each had huge skylights above and were wonderful! c

In the photo I posted, granted it is hard to tell dimensions, but I am cringing at the thought of water from the sink sizzling on the hot radiator, or shower splash, or or, worse, someone’s delicate tushie skin!
