Blooming today on what will be a hot day

It will be hot today--around 90. I guess that's not too bad considering it's the middle of July already. The flowers are diminishing fast, but we grow a lot of late bloomers so we have some that haven't even started blooming yet.

Deadliest Catch is registered as mid-late, but it blooms late here. It is an important parent in our late program.

Carnosaur is registered as mid-late but has just started flowering.

Delinquent Doll is another late.

Paradise Road is another late. It has been rather erratic in the garden concerning its growth. It doesn't increase well. Some years it does fine and other years it struggles.

August Flame is new to the garden.

She's Got Legs is another late bloomer.

Sonoran Desert Rose presented a ball of flowers. It's actually two scapes close together.

TrueNorth Shy Fox has always been a disappointment. It's a large flower on a tall scape. But the scapes has a tendancy to lean. The color we get is always pale compared to its registration photo. It's a Canadian intro. I have a theory that some Canadian ones don't develop as much color here because the nights are so much warmer than they probably are in Canada.
