How often have you used the tables fire feature? The round fire pit will be wood burning? Most prefer to not smell of smoke after an evening of sitting by the fire in urban settings.

What are the patio and table dimensions?

A round firepit may not be as long as your current table but it will likely be wider. will it fit?

Can you put a gas/propane line in for the firepit rather than burning wood ?

Before replacing it, compare the full usable footprint, not just the object. A round pit may look lighter, but its required seating and safety clearance can consume more of a small patio than the table does. Mark the proposed pit diameter plus the manufacturer's clearance zone with painter's tape or cardboard, place the chairs where they would actually sit, and test the main walking route for a few evenings. Also verify the surface below, overhead cover/branches, wind exposure, fuel storage, and your local open-flame rules before buying. If the taped circle still feels calmer and leaves a comfortable route, the change is probably worthwhile; if not, a smaller fire table may be the cleaner solution.

I'd keep the fire table. you can always replace it if you need to.

Once you make something permanent, it's there.

Consider a fire pit with hidden storage for a propane tank. There is a cover for the crystals to make it just a coffee table. We have had one for years. The only down side is to have a spare tank in case you run out of gas. There are many brands so go with the ratings.

I've been intrigued with breeo, they have a way of making it less smoky ? I think.... all we have is a breeo grill on a post for use on top of our very rustic campground style firepit but I've been impressed with the quality ! Kind of expensive though.

This was our firepit at previous home. We ran natural gas there and converted from propane to eliminate tank refills.

We have a breeo fire pit and love it - it takes about 5-7 min to get hot enough to go smokeless but it’s amazing when it gets rolling — it puts out tons of heat as well

I dont mind the size of the table on your patio, i dont think i would want to trade the usable surface space to eat and put drinks on, and additional platters. it really dep on how you use your space?

Remove any source of fire & smoke in your back yard unless you enjoy annoying your neighbors! Fire & smoke in your yard drifting to neighbors is RUDE! And it is bad for your health!

Plant flowers instead and stare at the garden instead of fire/smoke.

You have a lovely backyard space. I would get a round propane/gas fire pit. The round shape is easier to get around and takes up less valuable space. There will be no smoke also.

It's a tad big but not that bad -replace it when it gets older.

Thank you for your suggestion dee_mckervey. The set is brand new and we will enjoy the fire pit for a while and probably pass it along to our daughter later. I'm trying to decide on a smaller rectangle or round fire pit? Thoughts?
