Catching up on what has and is blooming here

Here we are dealing once again with the heat and humidity but I know relief from the heat is coming. To add to our weather issues is the wildfire smoke from Canada slowly makes its way to our area or so the weather forecaster report.

Here are some blooms I don't think I've shared yet.

DEAREST VALENTINE - moved it last fall to a new spot. Came up great with lots of scapes and buds but just not as tall as I would like. Mostly this happens when I move a plant so maybe next year it will be better.

NEON FLAMINGO - moved last fall to a new spot. Also not as tall as previous year and not as many buds. But still a great show of color.

SPACECOAST FRANCIS BUSBY - sent up many scapes this year and hard to capture all the flower openings. Very deep color but when the temps hit 100, it faded a bit.

SPRING MYSTIQUE - I almost lost this one last season and found the rubeckia that was planted near it was overwhelming it. This season it did pretty good and showed its pattern nicely. I plan to cross with a couple of the Reimers next year.

CHATEAU BELAIR - I got this from Curt last fall. It looks in color similar to Shape Of Waters but the form is differnt. Hard to get a good photo. Hoping for taller scapes next year.

PINEWOOD LILY PAD - new this spring from Korth. I really like this one. I'm sure it will improve in height next year.

PINK OSTRICH - new this spring from Brent (Cottage Gardens NYS). It is suppose to be tall and I'm sure next season it wil be.

BOB MARLEY - is a blooming machine and will most likly be blooming for sevral more weeks. Another one that is hard to photograph but I love this color.

ALLEGHENY SKYLINE - another one that does well here. I have two planting of it so I will need to find a home for the second planting. I think the color is more muted this season. The first pic is one I have nearest my front porch and the second pic is one that is out in the garden near my weather vane.

FLYING TRAZEZE - planted this spring so we shall see how it does next season.

FILLED TO OVERFLOWING - well this one must have heard me bad mouthing it last season so this season it took off and put up a pretty descent amount of scapes. Opened fairly well.

It's good see Dearest Valentine with deep, saturated color! Mine is short this year too, and blooms have had lighter color this season. I think it didn't care for the harsh winter. Your clump of Spacecoast Francis Busby looks vibrant and healthy! Spring Mystique looks lovely, and it would be a good one to cross with your Reimer patterns! Neon Flamingo has such a pretty color in your photo! Allegheny Skyline looks fantastic. I'd love to have that one again. The last fan on the plant you sent last Spring finally died. I had eight new ones that I potted last year that rotted. They were all large, healthy fans. I think it must have been something in the potting soil that killed them.

What a great post, Julia. So many to love! Filled to Overflowing is very pretty! Neon Flamingo and Dearest Valentine are very pretty as usual. What a statement SPACECOAST FRANCIS BUSBY and Bob Marley make! They are wonderfully bright!

These are all looking so good. Lots of buds on Dearest Valentine can make up for height this year. Bob Marley is so bright. SC Francis is a great clump. I think you will like Pinewood Lily Pad-it is certainly a different look. Great post.

Bob Marley loves your garden, what a wondeful show. It great Filled to Overflowing heard you bad mouthing it…..looks like the threat worked. I moved several daylilies recently…..they all bloomed like yours did but also have short scapes. We have canadian smoke here too.

Chateau Belair can vary in height--this year it is fairly tall, with scapes of varying height. Yes, difficult to capture the soft lavender color. Spring Mystique is an evergreen, I see--not widely grown. I have a nice clump of A Skyline, but it is one that doesn't like hot afternoon sun. Francis Busby is a very nice clump. I have always considered that one, but the Spacecoast prefix is a turn-off.

I can't find any I don't find appealing. Good selection. Interesting thought about Spring Mystique and a Reimer. Hope that works out for you..........Maryl

Debra:Sorry to hear the first ones I sent you did not survive. If you want to try Allegheny Skyline again, I can give you the 2nd clump I have that I am looking to rehome. Let me know. It is possibly 6 or more fans.

I am so glad Bob Marley is doing well. It is a favorite. Allegheny Skyline is another pretty one. Pinewoods Lily Pad is indeed a pretty one. and Francis Busby is a great one too,
