Suggest keeping art instead of mirror since it faces kitchen. Not something you want to see in mirror.

We placed a mirror there once to test it and didn’t see the kitchen as the mirror is pretty high up. We did see the fan but n it so if we see the chandelier I think we’ll be happy.

Yes, the mirror size you are looking at is good. You could also go a bit larger; but I think if you do a mirror like the one below, in your AI rendering, it will be good. And the arch will be nice to balance all the square shapes in the space, ie adjacent tv, etc.

A mirror is my first choice, always, for a fireplace - unless the fireplace happens to directly face the front door. A mirror over a fireplace is beautiful- to bounce light around and provide expansion in the space. A mirror over a fireplace is also considered to be great Feng Shui - it is most auspicious; mirror is considered to be a water element and balances the fire element.

This board is mostly anti-mirror for fireplaces, which is sad, but it is what it is. The amazing part to me, though, is that although art is recommended 95% of the time - there is absolutely no warning given to people, regarding the potential hazards of displaying paper/canvas art over a fire/heat generating fireplace. In the view of art preservation circles - it is one of, if not the very worst place, to display artwork. If someone has any art on paper or canvas, that has any sentimental or monetary value - hanging it over a fire/heat is not the best move.

Anyway, the mirror will be beautiful in your space reflecting the chandelier. Lovely. You will notice a big difference in the look and feel of the space.

I feel that the walls need a colour to help the fireplace and the white furniture stand out. Even if you just paint the fireplace wall. I do not feel a mirror adds much to the room. Even though the colour in the picture attached may not be great it does show you how the wall colour enhances the fireplace and the sofa. Last suggestion is your rug is too small for the space. I feel it should be larger going past the back of the sofa to define the room.

I like the look of a mirror over your fireplace.

I like the gold mirror. I think the art looks too much like just one more dark rectangle on that wall. I would also consider a chandelier with gold in it rather than white.
