Rolling arrivals

Mostly about Walmart and Amazon. I'm not complaining, I think it is just funny. They provide an arrival 'window' in which your item is supposed to actually arrive. But sometimes they run late. When they do, the 'window' changes to a slightly later time. I've had Walmart give me four separate (consecutive) windows for the same delivery. Walmart has a deal where you can actually see a little vehicle going town a road on your computer with the time before arrival. I had a Walmart delivery recently where the arrival was shown as one minute and then it rolled and showed 8 minutes.
The windows are still a good idea though, one has to just be patient with changes.

I buy from Amazon alot as i hate to shop. this happens only rarely, but we have an amazon warehouse nearby. I do not shop at/from Walmart.

What bugs me is on Azon, it will say 'delivery tomorrow for Prime members'. I tell DS to order it (he has the Prime account) and he'll respond 'coming day after tomorrow'. Why? It said tomorrow.

On the other hand, sometimes I order something in the morning and it's at my door in a few hours. We do have a distribution warehouse not too far away but I am still always amazed.

I also do not buy from Walmart so no experience. I do regularly order from Target and no complaints about delivery.

DD is close to an Amazon warehouse (close = in the same county). Sometimes the delivery time is ”between 4 a.m. and 8 a.m.” She does not want an Amazon order at 4 a.m.! The dog barks, the security lights go on, the doorbell camera sends a message! Sometimes the website allows her to choose a later time; sometimes it doesn’t.

The 'delivery tomorrow' option may be predicated on ordering before a certain time of day, IMPE.

Yes, it's definitely based on ordering before a certain time. Even when we do that, delivery is often not when it indicated at first. Not a big deal usually unless I really do need it today or tomorrow. First world problems, I know.
