art for this wall

How do I display artwork on this rather long wall? The lid over the turntable isn’t always open.

Do you want one piece or multiple pieces? The lamp makes placing art a little more challenging. As an aside I would move & elevate the Sanseviera plant, a little away from your cabinet, + a low plant stand ( many available online ). Can’t really suggest since art is very personal, tons of resources online.

choose something equal to or smaller than the length of the console.

looks like you can hang something vertical almost twice the height of the lamp.

a framed music themed poster? Your favorite artist? www.greatbigcanvas.com is an affordable source. https://www.greatbigcanvas.com/view/thanks-for-the-melodies,2789860/

Here is one view. The art on the left would of course be moved in a bit closer.

Art is very personal. Once you decide what you want to put on your wall, you may naturally have a sense of how to arrange the piece or pieces. I think asymmetry on that wall could also be interesting. If you need art, Etsy.com is one resource.

In addition to some of the suggestions above I’ve purchased from Minted, Artfully Walls, KingsLane, etc. Probably the most affordable recently has been from PSTR studio, has some interesting, affordable art, framed or not.

Art and its placement is subjective.

It doesn't have to be equal or smaller than the console ... again very subjective!

Some people are comfortable with art from floor to ceiling on every wall and some people are not.

You can look through Houzz Photos for ideas. When something looks interesting save them to your Ideabooks.

There are no rules to hanging art.

This is along the lines of what the above commenter’s suggestion would look like- as far as the placement of three pieces over the console, hung high enough to clear the open turntable cover (and clear the lamp).

You could perhaps hang them a bit lower. The size of the pieces could be smaller to not extend past the console as much; but the art does not have to line up with the size of the console. Another option would be two pieces.

Also, art is not an accessory. It does not have to match the space, color-wise - nor does it have to have a theme, etc. It ‘can’ match and/or complement the space colors, and it can have a theme, but that is personal preference.

So find some art that you love - and take it from there.

If it were me, I’d aim to create a better balanced wall in general, as even with art the piece of furniture will still feel lost. Do that first and then test some art and if sizing and placement are difficult to decide on, use Kraft paper templates. Given your decor, I think less will be more (ignore the dimensions below, but hope it helps).

Thank you all for your input. It has given me an expanded vision of the room. I did buy a plant stand for the snake plant .how it looks. how it looks.

A small grouping of 2–3 pieces above and around the turntable could look great. Stick to a similar color palette, or frame a few favorite album covers to tie everything back to the music setup.

Just leave enough space above the turntable so the lid can open easily. I’d avoid hanging anything too low.

Every situation is different and it depends on the color, pattern, texture of the artwork you want to display. Would suggest you start by picking out pieces that will coordinate with each other and the room. That doesn't mean the pieces all have to be the same or very matchy matchy. Just select pieces that are appealing and just look good together.
