Hello, glass needs to be heating at an amazing heat to melt.. No hot pots ( even red hot I think) could melt it. ThinkGlass recommends to use a trivet under hot pots. ThinkGlass glass countertops are 1.5" thick or more and very durable. There is many Bars that use their glass countertop, so the resistance to daily use is very good. Imagine how much traffic, people, keys, money and scuffling these Glass Bars are enduring.. and they still looks great after years of use. Also the fact that there is a texture at the bottom of the glass makes the little scratches, spills or fingertips almost invisible.
