We have wanted to update our master bath for years. It is still functional, we just do not use the whirlpool tub and would like a larger shower. We built this house 35 years ago and only the flooring has been replaced in the bath.

The tub will go and leve that area empty. I am picturing a bench along the wall to the toilet, with room to get dressed in.

The current shower is 48 x 32. We have a wall at the left end of the shower. Due to the window location (also brick on front of house) it can not be moved.

Floor plan of current layout is below along with two options I have come up with. First option extends current wall out to accomodate a 48 x 48 shower. I am also visualizing a shelf running along the outside wall to make the actual dimensions roughly 52 x 48.

Option 2 rotates the shower to run along the bedroom wall, shower would then be 60 x 36 with plumbing and short wall placed at right end by door. This would open the shower to the dressing area.

At this point we are planning Cambria slabs for the shower. The ceiling in this room is cathedral with the peak being at 10 ft. A jumbo slab should work without seaming. A certified Aging in Place KD cancelled due to illness on me yesterday. She obviously will be assisting in product selection and design. We do not feel that any other walls need moved unless someone comes up with a killer design!

ETA: mechanicals are under this area so moving plumbing I think will be easy if the shower is rotated.
