I miss my split-level. (Where we lived, the township tax assessor would have listed yours as a tri-level, not a split. We found it was a subtle difference in our local rules.)

Landscaping is a must. Trim out the windows. Warm up the paint color. Improve exterior lighting.

You don't need to improve the exterior lighting, you need to take a picture on a clear day with the sun on your house, not behind it. It looks dark, but that's a function of your photography, not your house. Because your photo is so shaded, it's hard to tell how much your plantings are overwhelming your house and how much they are adding to the beauty. I'm always cautious when I see advice that I think is based on a bad picture.
