What are you keeping from the original house - brick, roof etc? I think the AI photo has a few top many different exterior materials (4 seems a lot) and if it were me, I’d be looking to simplify

I agree that the AI sample is much too complicated. Looks like ”let’s throw this on there too while we’re at it.”

The brick veneer looks ok in your picture. Are you keeping it that color or painting it? Start with the brick color (whatever color you choose) and then paint your siding to blend.

Your house might be a candidate for good shutters. (Many houses aren’t.) But the shutters in picture #1 look pretty narrow. Investigate quality shutters - not those plastic, screw-on kind or the ones that look like they’re made of broken up wood pallet pieces.

Please ask "help me fix this design before it's too late".

Show some non AI pictures of the existing house, and the 4 elevations showing the addition and the floor plans.

Hi thanks for the comments, I definitely need help. I am keeping the original first floor brick and I will have hickory shingles. The addition will be a single story.

I notice your new elevation has the stairs still facing to the side. That made sense when the driveway was close by, but it's more attractive to make the stairs face front.

I like the current brick, but it's a warm color, which doesn't go with your pale blue current siding or the harsh white of the AI picture. I'd go with a warm cream or a very soft yellow.

My main concern would not be aesthetics but the roof configuration. In the elevation and AI rendering (which are not at all the same, by the way), I see gables directing water against the original house wall.

Unfortunately , It will have to face the side. The driveway is still on the right side. The street is very close to the original build. I definitely want To change the color of the existing siding on the 2nd story. I am going for a modern look

I like the way the Gables look but didn't think about the problem it could cause to the existing roof.

As @PPF. said above, we need dimensioned floor plans, elevations, and a roof plan to offer informed advice.

Do you have the other 3 elevations and a floorplan you could show?

Getting windows correct is rarely done on this type of remodel. Often the existing windows are not replaced. Older houses often had shorter windows making it obvious where the new work is.

Is your designer able to show you 3D renderings?

Yes my design was professionally done. We purchased my husband's family house and doing a renovation and massive addition. However we are keeping the brick on the original front and hickory shingles.
