Please help pick kitchen cabinet color for black countertops

I recently changed floors to Anderson Oak LVP. Please help select kitchen cabinet color for the honey oak that will go with the new floors and black granite countertop. I am leaning to keep the cherry island color as is. This room gets very little natural light so I don't want dark colors. Ruling out white as I don't want to deal with the upkeep as I have messy tween/teenagers in the house. Also ruling out gray as I personally feel it lacks warmth. Please help with recommendations for a warm undertone.

What's wrong with them now? They look to be in good shape, from what you show. I'd start with switching out the door hardware and the pendants and see if that is enough of a change for you. Why did you change out the flooring in the kitchen? In the one pic I can see what looks to be a darker wood or wood-look LVP. Not sure I like the old and the new next to one another. Is that flooring staying as-is?

Hard to tell what the wall color is- looks pretty gray. But I'd go with a warm white tint. Not white, but a tint. Sherwin Williams SW7634 Pediment, or SW7003 Toque White. Or move toward a color like SW 7568 Neutral Ground or even SW7531 Canvas Tan. They will all stay light and warm enough to work with the two other paint colors and the floors and cabinets.

I would just change the pendants.

Plus, add some under cabinet lighting. I was attempting to change the wall color and backsplash, but I’m having technical difficulty. The grey walls and grey backsplash are not doing much for the space.

Are you trying to move to a more neutral, less warm color than the golden oak? Your floor and island are definitely less warm than the golden oak. A neutral off-white might work, maybe something like SW creamy?

Consider painting only the island a color taken from the countertop specs. It seems too dark with the flooring and the room. And consider changing the wall color same as island color for cohesiveness. Update hardware on the perimeter cabinets and it will be lovely!

Maybe think big picture. In addition to suiting the flooring and black counter, you may want to consider the adjoining space(s). Also, leaving the island as is, it could narrow down options (decide when cabinets are finished).

    - What is your backsplash like/will you be updating?

    - Do you plan on painting the walls in kitchen (and in the connecting open areas as well)?

    - What decor color schemes are being used in those spaces?

If interested in more robust suggestions, providing the additional information would be very helpful.

Look on line for combinations and save your favorites. Be prepared to having to update other things; ie: stools and hardware).

Sorry but really the cabinets are dated for sure and honestly you should have worked on new cabinets before the floor went in . The island is cramped and dated too and why cherry anywhere with those floors.. That kitchen could have been so much better .

Would you consider getting new cabinet door fronts before painting? The arches on your current doors look very dated…

Wait a sec - is the new kitchen flooring just in the kitchen and it butts to cherry toned real wood floors in the adjoining spaces?

If you have cherry wood in adjoining areas, maybe keep the cherry wood on the island to relate.

As I mentioned in my comment the other day, I think the wall color and backsplash color is the main issue; I also suggested just changing the pendants and adding some under-cab lighting. I still think that could be enough.

I was having technical issues the other day, and wasn’t able to paint the walls, etc. I am tech remedied - and created some visuals with white walls/ backsplash and various combos.

Your current kitchen is the first pic shown, below. Please keep in mind: I did not intend to remove the microwave. AI went wild with the tile.

What were the floors? The pics above are a great testament to why one should not paint cabinets. The painted looks so flat and fake. All the richness gone. I would look for new counters and leave the cabinetry alone.

I like the green that Emily has selected in her rendition but will suggest that you also paint the island the same color as the rest of the cabinetry. That will help eliminate the difference between cabinetry and flooring altogether.

Emily’s AI image removed the cherry toned wood floors in the adjacent area. I think it’s going to look like 2 different homes unless you either continue the same flooring like Emily’s image or you keep some cherry toned wood in the kitchen. Either way, it’s not ideal to have fake wood floor right next to real wood.
