Didn’t get the bright colors tonight but the wonderful sound of the wind in the big trees.

Exactly what Islay said. That looks so delicious and I like the eye appeal. Nice char on the snap peas. That looks like a 20” wok. I also find a long handled ss slotted spoon just right for wok cooking.

What a wonderful large tree and sunset.

You refer to your husband’s sauce several times. Would he mind sharing the ingredients? Proportions?

I posted it in @petalique’s Kung Pao post. let me look and cut and paste. It is a 16” carbon steel. We had a local welder make the large loop handle on the side. It is quite heavy.

It doesn’t have a lid like our smaller one does but back 54 yrs ago they came with a matching steel lid. Can’t get one anymore for this wok . I ordered a custom made wooden lid from Etsy will be here soon. We shall see it is a Chinese person in California who makes them. The Japanese also use these flat wooden ones. I hope it is nice.

thank you @Islay Corbel and @petalique. the large tree is in the neighbor’s yard it is Crepe Myrtle.I think all you can see is the variegated grass.

. I have 2 very old lilacs there next to it on our side. In the Spring the whole back garden is so fragrant. c

@Sherry8aNorthAL. very very low salt lots of flavor. also lots of the minced pickled gingerroot. 3-4 tbsp. the trick is exciting the tastebuds without salt.

DH said 2tsp of the thick sweet soy sauce and 1 tsp regular soysauce and a big splash Black vinegar very small amounts of Chinese cooking wine, oyster sauce , sesame oil and a sprinkle of sugar . Thin with veg or chicken stock. Cornstarch slurry in a separate bowl add as needed

Thank you. I will have to look up some things. I thought I had bought everything, but I do not have black vinegar or sweet soy sauce? I also need pickled gingerroot?

Have lost my post 3x grrr.

buy large gingerroot. peel, slice thinly place in pint jar with 2/3 of the white balsamic and 1/3 water. store in fridge. turns pink

The sweet soy sauce isnt salty it is thick. small amounts of everything but ginger! no need for a lot of salt. the Umami of the other flavors takes away the need for salt.
