Do you use Vinted website?

My son does a lot of thrifting and told me about it. The site is generally priced like a flea market and has beautiful items if you search. I bought the ceramic conch for $4 and the pedestal bowl for $55. free shipping too. My plan is to put white hydrangea in the bowl (which is 10”tall and 13” wide.) Hopefully part of my coffee tablescape in our FL condo.

Both pretty pieces that will nelp you design your Florida transition. Really like the compote.

    Picotee amaryllis instead of hydrangeas?

I’ve never used it because I’ve read some pretty bad reviews. It scores poorly on Trustpilot. It only has a little over 1 star out of 5.

Since sellers (me included) started having problems getting paid from Poshmark recently - seriously delayed bank transfers, bounced checks, and terrible communications from the platform, many are now cross-listing on Vinted and reporting increased sales. I am not interested in selling on another platform, but if one is looking for something and you see it on Poshmark I would double check on Vinted to see if it is there and cheaper.

    Great finds Jojo!!

I'm being bombarded with Vinted ads these days and I'm always skeptical of heavily advertised stuff, so it's good to know you had a positive experience.

I hate that PM isn’t up to snuff. I have a pair of J. Crew sneakers that I need to sell. They are the style that I like. In 6 months, I haven’t found any NWT in my size. I thought I could get by with a half-size larger. I can’t. Might have to just go with ebay.

@bbstx - while I am still waiting on a bank transfer initiated on September 19, I did sell an item before I put my closet on hold and chose instant transfer (with fee) for that transaction and it went through. The issues may have been a glitch associated with a certain timeframe but my chief concern was the lack of customer support and communications. If you like and want to continue with PM, I would just choose instant transfer or something other than bank transfer (which I have successfully used for years) for any proceeds right now.

@bbstx- have you tried ThredUp? I have found NWT items on there.

Have not tried any other sites although my older daughter did mention Vinted.

@ninasmom, I have a ThredUp account because a friend was enthused about it. I’ve had it for probably 10 years and I don’t believe I’ve ever bought anything there.

@rubyclaire, PM already charges enough in fees. I’m not sure I want to add another.

I’ve never sold on FB Marketplace either. I bought a “project” coffee table locally on there once. I don’t do ”projects”! WTH was I thinking?? And a bunch of Blue Willow plates that I was going to use for wall decor, but my decorator found something better so now the BW plates are in the cabinet languishing on the top shelf.

I’ve also sold on Mercari. It seems to be a down-market PM.

Vinted is known as a much easier site to sell counterfeit goods. For that reason, I won’t use it.

No, I've never used it. I only started using ThredUp a few months ago, just to buy NWT. I never sell any clothing items, I donate (our church supports a great local charity that has a thrift store) or give to friend/relative, etc. I have bought some great items (antique) on FBMP but have never sold. However, I have two wood chairs with cane seats (antique) and 3 framed art prints that I believe I will try to sell on FBMP. I will do a meet-up only, not here at our home.

Jojo - I love that bowl! I have quite a bit of blue transferware. : )

Never heard of it; just saw a TV ad tho. My girls seem to like Depop.

I buy mostly from Poshmark but also The RealReal, RenttheRunway, Ebay and Thredup. Oh and in person thrift shops in a few cities.

Thank you @jojoco - I also had never heard of it. Your finds look great and your idea of white hydrangeas in the bowl would be so pretty.

My son is working for Depop so of course I had to try it out. I've had good luck with the things I've bought and the selection is enormous. Very easy to buy or sell.

Never tried Vinted. ThredUp is ok, I've used it in the past.

The thing I find is that the quality of the sites, their images, and their inventory varies a lot. TRR always "looks" the best and so it is an easy gateway for people new to the idea. To me RTR and PM are next best, and by the time you get to Thredup and Depop some of it looks like rags! But I'd wager offers the best value.

Actually no, as my friend w the Etsy shop showed me, garage sales are the absolute best value. I got a BB cashmere sweater for $5. That doesn't even cover shipping. But you may have to kiss a lot of frogs. She spared me by taking me to only the very best spots, LOL!

Both have shipped so fingers crossed. Evidently there is no fee for sellers (yet) which is why there is so much there. I'll update when the goods get here (and Lisaam, thanks for the nudge towards Amaryllis. I just ordered two beautiful bulbs which cost as much as the container, lol.)
