I would have put the bed closer to the street. I like #1 the best, in part because the likelihood that your palms will stay the so neat and the same size, as AI has shown is pretty low. In my experience, palms will lean.

I live about 20 miles from Olana. It's the home of Frederic Church, one of the premier 19th century American landscape artists. When Church's arthritis got too painful, he started designing living landscapes. There are walks on the estate where you walk through the woods, until there is an opening on one side that reveals a picture-perfect landscape, usually of the Hudson River and the Catskills. The opening dictates where you are supposed to stand and view the picture.

This is very, very different from normal landscaping. When you are landscaping a house, the point of view changes as the viewer moves around. Imagine walking past the house. First you see the landscaping from the side, then you move until you see it head on, then you see it from the other side. So the symmetry you are so set on, is really only visible if you are standing at the same point the photo is taken from.

Another vote for the first picture. I'd consider adding something on the other side of the driveway if there is room.

#1, definitely ( for me ).

Wow I’m actually shocked, I guess I was too focused on symmetry. I thought the 2 palms staggers to the left was the worse one lol now im confused even more

Design principles suggest odd numbers are more pleasing to the eye.

The ”odd” numbered (3) shown looks the worst IMO. I think when designing it’s the positioning that’s important … rather than just the nimber of objects. I prefer asymmetrical designs though

I vote for #1.

If you plan to use the plants shown below the palms, I’d caution about what appears to be a century plant aka agave americana placed in the center of the bed. Make sure there is sufficient space from the house in case work needs to be done, such as window washing. You wouldn’t want anyone to be rubbing against those spiky leaves.

If

Number 1 - as long as one palm is taller than the other.

#1, hands down. As long as, like shirl said, one palm is larger. That arrangement looks professional and polished.
