Every vote counts!

Right now (7:04 EST), there are less than 50 votes between the 2 main senate candidates in Mississippi - a reminder that, whomever you vote for, every vote matters!

    Looks that way!

All the races I cared about were pretty close, so yes each vote counts. The good news is we will have two years of ineffectual government, nationally. The veto power of our President will save us. The only hope is people pay attention as the blue States sink into socialist policy and thus fail, will teach the greater population the reality of communism and get us a better outcome in two years.

Well, there is a reason for the blue wave, right arcy? The majority are not happy with the policies enacted under the red house, the red senate, the red presidency and the red supreme court. It's made us poorer, unhealthier, our environment dirtier, the income gap wider, and everything we buy more expensive, our freedoms infringed, and unsafer domestically and internationally. So maybe think about what we have to gain by finally having a check on the executive branch for the next 2 years. Be glad the Constitution is working, the wealthiest have *not* been able to buy elections, and the voice of the people still matters.

I spent a bit over three hours at a nearby polling place representing the local democracy advocate group I belong to. The group is nominally non-partisan but recently that has translated into support for one party over another.

I loved the expressions of the just having voted people— they found it hard to contain the happiness. And so many brought children who emerged wearing Future Voter stickers.

I hope one of the early actions by the new congress is serous ethics reform for all three branches.

Keep on voting, America; stay interested, involved, caring, and ethical!

I couldn't be happier!!!! Not only did we win the Senate and House, but in Ohio, our Amy Acton sent a billionaire packing!!! First female governor in Ohio!! I love it!

On another thought about voting, in my little city, we had a very contentious issue on the ballot. I was for it but it lost by less than 90 votes. So today everyone goes back to work, to making our city better and the people have spoken.

Definitely time to celebrate that we still have a functioning democracy and our Constitution may be frayed but it's still working.

Would love clarification on This, Stated Above “blue States sink into socialist policy and thus fail, will teach the greater population the reality of communism and get us a better outcome in two years”

which Policies are folk afraid of?

I love the colour Blue, abhor Communism will fight tooth and nail against it! kind of like we did in Nam, Korea, WW11…

" “blue States sink into socialist policy and thus fail, "

arcy fails to recognize the large amount of socialism that has been promoted and enacted under the current administration, and how far it's moved away from capitalism.

Congrats 🥳 and best wishes heading forward from Canada 🇨🇦

"we will have two years of ineffectual government, nationally."

We already have that now. T is more interested in his home decor and vanity projects.

I've seen so many videos asking rwer for a definition of 'socialism' and they can't even define it. They only can repeat the talking points they've been fed. It is the government ownership of the means of production. There has been only one administration since W that has taken ownership in over 40 companies... this one. The others? Zero.

All the races I cared about were blowouts. Ten, even twenty points!!. Felon is a lame duck and will probably go into further dementia. The good news is Vance is done. His Ohio showed him what they thought of their native son. Can't tell you how I loved this. I also love Maine, Michigan, and especially Texas. Who would've thought a blue Texas? The best part was the felon handpicked ALL the losing candidates.

Is there a sale on MAGA caps today?

I just heard someone say that DJT finally united the country, lol!

It's hilarious that arcy thinks T cares about "communism" when he's declared his two favorite leaders are Putin and Xi. I doubt he'll bother with "boring" domestic policy at all as he's busy building his ballroom, his arch and a golf course. He still wants a Nobel Peace Prize, so he may make some attempt to end the two wars his buddies started, but only if he can take credit for it.

So glad for all the wins!

And here we sit in FL- maybe arcy would like to trade states...

Socialism is resentment, disguised as compassion, enforced by tyranny, disguised as tolerance.

“Socialism is resentment, disguised as compassion, enforced by tyranny, disguised as tolerance.”

Hence 2-3 weeks of parental leave, 3 days bereavement, 5 days sick leave per yr is resentment. ?

Unemployment benefits = Socialism and should be banned. SWhat about Govt Big Corp Baillouts? Wish govt would have bail me out during the big housing bubble. Lost the house, lost my job. But, with inordinant amount of hard work, help of the good Lord, I am ok. Though Not as financially comfortable as Big Corporations who obtained govt baillouts.

Though, I don’t quite get Tyranny and its disguise. Please give an example…

So sorry Carol, and in 2 years he'll retire down there, lucky you. ...unless of course he hightails it to Argentina with his loot.

" Socialism is resentment, disguised as compassion, enforced by tyranny, disguised as tolerance. "

Resentment? Tyranny? Fake tolerance? Sounds like MAGA to me. It doesn't sound like democratic socialist countries that provide guaranteed healthcare, maternity leave, and subsidized higher education.

What evidence do you have that there's resentment and tyranny? Do you know that, or do you just make stuff up?
