Now I see it.......no, don't change it, but give it its own space so it does not blend in with work items. Let it stand out more. Can you put nails in the wall?

Yes, i do...what item will hang on the wall?

Find a spot to hang that pic. It must be a special one since you already have it there. Find a place where you will easily see it. You may want to even add two more pics of similar sizes. Do not worry about the frames matching....they can each tell their own story that way. Put a bigger plant there and you will also be surprised how cozy it will feel. SMALL changes with a BIG impact!

dear abbyjean thanks alot..i will try and update you :)...but since I work at a mining site in the "middle of the jungle", where there is no big store here to find new big pot and frames, It will take a few month to update you :)

For a start you can get cable organisers from Ikea I think, that would help tidy up under the desk. Perhaps also some desk accessories such as pen holders, document trays to help keep everything organised. You can get some really nice designs now, leatherlook, woven etc. Also agree about the pot plant, you need a nice hardy leafy plant in a larger pot, (or use something you already have as a pot, ie a small metal bucket? plants are great for creating extra oxygen in that small space. Apart from that de-clutter.

Organize! If a small rolling file cart will fit under your desk you could get some things off the top of your desk, but still have them close at hand. Is it possible to hang anything on the wall? Command hooks are good and if you have fabric cubicle walls, they have items you can use to hang things. Buy yourself nice things to use in your office, they don't have to be terribly expensive but you will probably use them for years - if you are like most of us you spend more time at your desk than you do at home. So surround yourself with pretty things - a beautiful lamp, functional desk accessories, a nice desk mat, pretty clock and a picture or two. Don't clutter the space just cozy it up a bit. Decluttering, fixing the cords, putting a lamp, plant and a nice picture up will help (But be careful not to have too many pictures.) And last but not least, a pretty candy dish filled with peppermints or chocolates! Have fun making your space the prettiest space in the office!

Magglemae had great suggestions. I've always had a lamp on my work office desk, changes the whole vibe. I always told my coworkers that when they didn't see the lamp on my desk, it meant I quit "I'm taking my lamp and I'm out of here" - lol. And yes to larger plant.

dear maggiemae & rosemary, what kind of lamp you refer to ? also the nice desk mat, i haven't seen the desk mat for work office desk before...:)

Hi Marlins, I had a regular table lamp on my desk but it was no taller than 15 inches, including the shade and also it was a fun turquoise color with a printed shade since I wanted something totally fun for my desk. As to the desk mat (or sometimes called a desk blotter in my area), do you have an office supply store near you or go online to check them out and see if there's something you like. Of course, we want to see you new space when done, good luck.
