Hello and thank you for your note and interest in our products. The red wood that you see is our "WeatherPlank Reclaimed Barnwood". It is from reclaimed barns and whatever color(s) may be on it remain with the barnwood as we repurpose it in new structures.. It's quite possible that the paint you asked about was applied back in the 1930's, so we really don't have any further information on it.
