What do you want to do?

If you would like to look at photos, go to Houzz PHOTOS. Click. Scroll down to the room you are interested in, or choose All. Click. If you want more information about any photo, click on it. Options for more information will appear on the screen. You can put your favorite photos into your own photo albums, called Ideabooks. Even if you are not sure about a photo, add it to your Ideabook right then. It is impossible to find a specific photo on Houzz unless you have the photo number. It is easy to delete a photo from an Ideabook.

Anytime you want to enter a term into a Houzz search box, be sure to use quotation marks. ("xxxxx")

If you want to look at products for homes, go to Houzz Products. Same steps as above.

Houzz prepares articles on many different topics. These are called Ideabooks. Go to Houzz Ideabooks. Click. Scroll down to find the subject you are interested in. Click. You may bookmark Ideabooks for future reference.

If you need to find a professional in your area to hire, go to Houzz Professionals. Scroll down to the type of work you need done. Click. Enter your zip code in the search box with the tiny magnifying glass. Look at the profiles of Professionals in your area. Contact one or more of them directly.

Many people send questions about their homes to the Discussions section, under "Design Dilemmas." The more information you can provide, and photos in jpeg format to attach to Houzz, the better suggestions professionals and design enthusiasts can give you. You can enter a search term in the Discussions section, also. (For almost a year, questions came in about whether to mount large televisions above the fireplace. If that is your dilemma, it will have been discussed thoroughly.)

There is a section called "Your Houzz" if you are using an iPad. It has a different name if you access Houzz from a browser. You can find your Ideabooks here, rearrange photos, make comments in the text boxes underneath each photo, and more. If you are planning on hiring someone to do work for you, you can use your Ideabook photos to help you describe what you like.
