What a great Job!!! I love salvage.

Before almost looks like what I just got with an as-is assumed the mortgage. My better half has illusions we're going to turn it on a dime with a nickel and rent it. I think you have a fabulous AFTER.

Yes that is exactly what it is, a foreclosed house that no one wanted..and you can't blame them if you walked into that kitchen, and that was only the beginning... I saw a diamond in the rough with no money to hire anyone to polish that old diamond...but I was convinced I could do it myself, with little to no money to do it... And did... And I have had so unchanged fun in rethinking everything, and doing it myself.

So word check changed my wording... I have had so much fun in rethinking, creatively thinking outside the box.... If I had a chance again to do another. I'd be jumping for joy... That's how much I loved doing it.

amen, if you loved doing it. My looming mess is an abandonment and offered the owner a deal...once the owner found out how bad a shape it was in they took me up on it. (someone stripped the appliances, the heating system out of it; it had termite damage in the living room wall and ceiling, and almost every window has at least one inner pane broken, and all the doors are trashed) The person that used to own it before the last owner, lives not far away and is sick about how it's fallen apart. I hope you can get the rest of it 'loved' into shape. Those cabinets look GREAT, honest, I got another set I could use you to come help *me* with (can't pay but I cook really well) I am currently getting self-taught lessons in framing... :)

@ mybeachshack... faux finish with plaster, is what she said. She did a texturing of the walls then looks like painted them... garbage pen is I bet dumpster diving... :) or raiding the pile at the curb...

Yes for curb diving etc. you see even wood was a issue to build with. Like I said little money. So I have taken old desks, found object and made my own wood, taken it apart and cut them up to be rebuilt or used. Nothing is wasted. I actually am a master plaster, I carve with the stuff, my works have shown in presidential museum. So the walls was a snap for me, plaster being only ten dollars a bag goes far. And I have taught faux finishes to people. I also enter a while back my bathroom redo of the same house, under redo in this same format, and the walls in this bathroom was also plastered they are gorgeous. The counter top is 1/2 inch floor marble travertine... They where left overs from a floor I laid at someone else's home. Actually they where purchased years ago off a craiglists for 50.00 enough to do a 11by 22 kitchen. I saved them so much money, I got to keep the left overs.

All this saving of money allows me money to now look for refrigerator, off of craigslist of course. :) I want to face it like the cupboards, so it all looks like built in cabinetry.

wow... go Kim go! I live far too rural to get much of a chance to dumpster dive or craigslist within even semi-insane driving to get many recycleable 'finds'. One drawback to living rural. I don't have the scavenge abilities I used to have. There are many things to balance that... but. Kudos that you have the resources.

Garbage pen... didn't take much to figure that one out. Maybe best to leave this awesome, very creative work to those who can. What a fantastic change you made in your neighborhood... one by creating such a gorgeous space, and the other by clearing out someone else's "pen"! GREAT GOING on both fronts!!

Not only is it a lot of fun to re-do a house, but it also sells for soooo much more when you are done and move on. I received double for my efforts, a bit sad to move on but well worth it :-)
