This is my family room that I'm wanting to add colour too. Thanks

How would I add colour into this room? New cushions? A throw? Hall table with accessories?

Pics are of my living room. Thanks.

Hi issy84, Yes, your LR could use a little accessorizing to warm things up. You have a good, neutral base, so you can introduce color, pattern and texture through sofa and armchair pillows, art on the walls, and a throw or two. The throws could go in a basket on the floor, so that you can bring in more texture with the basket. Also, consider adding a small table between the two arm chairs and, if there's room, a small coffee table in front of the sofa. A floor lamp in the corner behind the armchair on the right, and perhaps on an end table beside the sofa (opposite end from floor lamp) and things will start to look quite cozy! If you aren't attached to the piece of art, you could put something just a little more colorful there and maybe move that piece somewhere where you already have some bright colors.

What you could do with the sofa pillows is carry the other accent colors you have mentioned, or at least one of them, plus add a new one, into this room. This way, your LR will relate to the other rooms, yet have its own identity. Some ideas below, from Pier One.

Also, it looks to me like your sofa and arm chairs should switch walls. It looks as if the arm chair wall is the longer one so the sofa should probably go there. And the end wall looks like it has a roller blind pulled down over a window - correct? This window would benefit it from having a pair of side panels, again to warm things up. This window is actually your focal point when you walk into the room, so make the curtains special - either a bright solid, or an interesting pattern.

I've added some colour. Just waiting to purchase a lamp. Thanks

Issy84, I love the turquoise color as an accent - very nice! And I like how the shapes in the links pattern pillow echo the shapes of the windows behind it. Looking good! Post some more pics when you get the lamp!
