    interest even!

Giraffe print is so adorable to me. I just like the way they run. Is that a valid reason to like giraffe print? :P

Currently got a thing for cow hides. Trying to use them on floors, walls, headboards. So votes goes for that. I find animal prints can turn a bad room tacky, but a good room classy. It requires a fine eye and adept hand to get the balance just right.

I am not usually a fan of the traditional animal prints, but I love the cow and giraffe examples.

this was a tough decision between cow and giraffe for me!

I think that cheetah, giraffe, zebra are so irrelevant here in the US... but, for whimsy, it might be OK. In my case, we actually live with cows and farms... It is an attractive accent.

Love Cheetah print!! The combo of black and brown makes it work in any room.
    Mooooo! Love the cowhide

To be fair, I think the same vignette and specfic item (chair, pillow, rug) should be used for each animal so choices aren't swayed by the style of the room rather than by the specific animal print. Photoshop would be a great asset to making this poll more effective.

I love animal prints....Have ZEBRA valances in my black and white kitchen....

I love the cheetah! I had a cheetah area rug in the living room and dragged it in the kitchen to use for size, it never left LOL

In general, animal prints are not my cup of tea--for interiors and clothing, although I love the elegant appearance of giraffes~
  • 12 years ago
Love dark backgrounds with interesting birds, i.e. cranes, a pair of doves, etc.
Funny, animal print on clothing can frequently look trashy, but on a pillow, classy!

Love a zebra or cowhide rug, but not too big on cheetah, giraffe, or tiger stripes.

I love using a tiny bit of leopard print in a room. The spots work well as a small scale geometric pattern.

    Dalmatian!

I don't really like animal print motif. Even though it is fabric it seems to condone using animal skin.
Brings interest into any style. Just don't over do. Keep simple like a ottoman, pillows
  • 12 years ago
Voted for the Zebra print but the room styling for the Cheetah one is gorgeous too
  • 12 years ago
Nothing's sharper than Zebra. Spectacular with a modern, natural wood, glass and chrome decor. Cat prints are more likely to be lost in a confusion of other patterns and colors. That's in my opinion, anyway. Perhaps womens' clothing wise, cats are cool, but not in the house. : )
Nah, not my cup of tea at all. Got a dog and cat and they both leave their 'print' more than enough for me on my furniture etc. Hee hee.

All this exotic stuff is great, but give me a good cow hide or pony print any day! God bless America! :) (And Roy Rogers!)

I have a zebra hide area rug under my cocktail table in the living room
  • 12 years ago
Ooh. I instantly wanted to say zebra until I saw the giraffe print. Love, love, love giraffe!

I like all animal print accents, I am currently going for an African theme in my house inspired by a large Tiger Throw I have, I intend to mix subtle prints in each room as accents and keep the walls fairly non excitable. Can't wait to get started.

I have a shop here in Harare, Zimbabwe, we use our special breed (Nguni) cow hides for all sorts of furnishing! So it is definitely COW for me!!
Here's an exhibition we did a short while ago... all cow hide!
Hard to go wrong with just a little zebra! I have 2 cushions about like this one, on either side of my charcoal gray sofa, paired with other bright, modern prints. It's just the right touch, and so inexpensive.

I'm against all animal prints wheather it is in fashion or decorating.

Love my cheetah Dining Room chairs! Slip covered these yard sale chairs 20 years ago and still love them. My Living Room/Dining Room is mostly neutrals, but I think animal prints go with everything.
None, do not like the perception of a dead animal laying around my house, or on clothes!
Don't like animal prints. Ive never bought any and don't think I ever will. I think they can look cheap. Birds on wall paper, a sort of oriental design is lovely though.

I love animal prints, but I especially love the zebra pillow! Great accent!

I don't normally like animal prints at all but in the examples shown, I'd vote for Zebra. I liked the cushion cover.

I love them all!!! What a fun way to add some interest to a room! These aren't grandma's fabrics anymore - these come in sophisticated, natural, understated, overstated, and every color of the rainbow. If you're reading this far, go ahead and try an accent pillow or two...have some fun!

I never would have picked cow until I saw this photo! Copying cow hide on the wall to enlarge artwork ASAP!

I love cowhide on furniture, accessories, even apparel (I have cowhide print shoes) http://www.rusticartistry.com/
  • 12 years ago
Stuck between Zebra and Cheetah patterns. Picked Cheetah pattern because it is more versitile. Cow hide is very cowboy and I just don't want to think of walking, sitting or looking a a cow minus the meat and bones! The faux fabric is much more my style.

    @DARZY
What?? You didn't like the way Laverne (Cher's lovable character) dressed with her animal print mini dress, bobbles and live gold fish in her shoes? LOL

Seriously though, I think if you based it on the same principles shown in most of the pics in Houzz , that is, using the animal print as an accent, your fashion statement can also be classy. For example instead of a dress or pants, pull everything together with a animal print scarf, jewelry or shoes.

Jmho, but, It doesnt always work with furniture either if your sofa or walls are overpowering. Keeping it Soft, simple or as an accent that will just serve to pull things together.

I don't like animal prints but the giraffe one I may have bought without realizing it was animal print- to me it would have looked abstract.
