What type of wood product is used for the wall?

I like the color. I'm wondering if there are new wood products with low maintenance that will hold color longer.

The wall is ipe with an oil finish on it. To keep it looking like this, you do need to keep it oiled regularly. Ipe will fade to silvery grey brown if left to its own devices. Wood is a natural material, so any wood will fade or weather depending on the exposure where you have it. Even composite decking (wood and plastic mixes) products will fade over time.
