Thanks S Hiz, how high can I go with the mirror? I was thinking a tall mirror would give the illusion of high ceilings to my 8ft tall ceilings . . .

My contractor/electricians put my sconces too high and it looks so bad. By the time they told me about the installation the wiring was all done and not enough slack was left. My boxes are at about 70" now after I brought them in and down a little. Maybe that's OK for a downward facing sconce, but mine are fairly rectangular and mount flush to the wall. I would say 66" would be pretty good. The point of bathroom sconces is to light the sides of your face. For a guy it's great so you can see under your chin to shave. The tall sconces make my bathroom look like it's off scale.

I have an 11' vanity going in and want to use sconces on each side of mirror. The mirror i choose was 37.5" wide and the sconces are15.5 inches high and 6.75 wide. My question is how far do the sconces have to be from the wall and mirrors

I usually place my sconces (up-ward facing) @ 66" OFF and no less than 2 1/2 " from wall, for a tight space. I place the sconce at 2 1/2 from mirror max is 3 so the mirror get all the light it can. Size of mirror depends on sink size as well as space for me, I like my mirrors at least 1" over the edge of the sink on both sides.

I have a 60" vanity being installed what size mirror do you recommend and where do you recommend placing the wall sconces on either side? I am trying to achieve this look with the lighting
