I have done what you did--bought a table I liked and thought worked for my space and had terrible time getting chairs that then worked with the table...
recently just gave up--moved table into my husband's office to use as desk and bought table/chair set off Craigslist...
I paid 3x for the table what I did for the Craigslist set so I am not happy about what I had to do...
but just couldn't find something that my husband and I thought worked...
This table we bought because it extends to over 70 inches although it takes up smaller area when not extended...and goes with the floors and cabinets in adjoining kitchen...
but style is really TOO modern/contemporary for look we were going with in the house...

I have an eclectic home and also have a similar style table. I wanted something striking for the chairs.

Like the idea of upholstered chairs for the table. Maybe even regular living room type chairs (scaled down). and upholstered with small arms.
