trac lighting in kitchen

I have Juno track lighting in my kitchen. It is old school. Any ideas of lighting heads I should use? It is the only light in the kitchen so I need high wattage. Should I just blend in with the wood ceiling or should I buy heads that are attractive?

Hi,

We aren't experts in overhead lighting, but have you thought of adding additional lighting sources? The best lit rooms have a variety of lighting: ambient, task, and accent lighting.

Adding under cabinet or above cabinet lighting can help create more light in other areas so your overhead lighting doesn't need to be so over bearing!

I am not certain that they accommodate Juno track but Nora lighting has very small yet potent LED track heads that may work. I am looking into replacing my showroom track heads that are halogen and bulky with these that are more current and unobtrusive.

I replaced my track lighting with halogen cable lights...plenty bright and not quite so vintage :)

I agree. Layers of lighting is always best, especially in a room like the kitchen and utility room. Not all heads from different manufacturers are interchangable, especially given the age. Is upgrading a consideration? If so, I may have some ideas for you. Happy Houzzing.

Wac or Elco heads may work with your existing track, which would give you some flexibility on design. I would consult a vendor in your area to confirm. Happy Houzzing.

Besides Juno, you can use track heads by WAC. They can be ordered to fit Juno 120V track. Whatever the source, look at low-voltage or LED track heads.

Juno track pendant lights were running $600 each- so we simply replaced the track (H) and went with Nora lighting.
