HI -- I have some of those corners in my kitchen and I hate them ,....when mopping the floor I have to get into the corners with a cloth by hand .... big pain ! But , as for looks Boerne is right -- they won't show . So it is up to you and how much you want to put up with.

You won't notice when countertop goes on...don't sweat the small stuff.

I have a similar island to you (though my style is more 'modern'). I had my cabinet maker cut the toe kick out the entire way around my island. Here's a photo of mine for comparison's sake:

I would cut to match the toe kick..its just a cleaner look. On another note, are the outer table legs secured to the slab in some way? What type of counter top will be installed?

Hey Brenda....I don't know! It's a real Dilemma!
Granite slab comes tomorrow....perhaps that will help keep my eyes going straight to that area.

The legs are secured to the floor and also the tray edge.

post another photo with the granite on. honestly, I doubt it will be noticeable once the space is done.

What additional support do you for your granite under the table side?

did your granite installers place additional support under the counter. We are about to install a similar setup and are unsure of the support issue.

Our granite installer didn't do support our cabinet installer did. two 2by10s along the Centre spanning the entire counter length. it is wrapped in cabinet material to esthetically look clean
