I'm planning to do the same design except want to keep my dark gray/blue slate floors. and maybe so a quartz marble look alike counter...ant suggestions and do you think I need to change the floor? Also, family of 3 little kids how durable is the wood counter. I can also do wood color base for the island? any thought? Thank you for answering so many questions!!!
