Painting baseboards

I hired contractors to install and paint my baseboards and pain the door/window frames. But the paint is really streaky and messy. I'm not an expert but this doesn't look professional. Can I expect that they should come back and fix it?

I would expect that they should come back and fix it! Painting baseboards is the worst, I can totally see why you'd pay someone to do it!

I do a better job of painting than that and I am not a professional painter. They should redo.

One of the pics is from inside a closet. Is it ok to expect they still do a better job in a closet too?

    Yes!

Yes this should be fixed. It appears as though they primed it and when they went back over with the paint they didn't cover completely which is why there are two different tones of white. A second maybe even a third coat should take care of brush lines. Not acceptable work!

Omg! Did some 5 years old do it? I am so sorry.

You paid them to do it and you wanted it to be better than if you did it yourself so yes, you have a right to expect them to do it--all of it--professionally.

Oh Lord...I'd be calling them back & insisting on it. Not sure what you paid but whatever it was, they didn't earn their pay that day!

I would DEMAND that they come back. I had a problem with a contractor concerning the replacemnt of my fascia boards and gutters, called and complained and he redid it without question. True professionals expect good referrals because of their work and will make it right.

I would not pay them and think twice about having them return if that was their standard.

Painting baseboards is a lot of work especially if they were dark before! These painters tried to cut corners (especially in the closet) hoping you wouldn't notice. I would hold back paying them until it is fixed to your satisfaction. I am not a professional and my baseboards look better than that!
