That depends how are you using it and why ?

I would like to avoid removing the painted paneling in our living room. There are 5 door ways, 2 windows, and a fireplace in this room. I would like to use wall liner to cover the paneling and then paint the liner. I had never heard of wall liner until I did some research on what could be done with painted paneling. Any suggestions? Has anyone used wall liners? Thank you...

The voids in the paneling will be the challenge as the paper will try in creep into it . What kind of budget are you working with ? I've used lining paper on walls to get a smooth finish again . Have priced out new Sheetrock or try filling the voids with drywall mud first doing the paper

It's a thick wallpaper that you can use before applying wallpaper but can also be used over old smooth walls that aren't smooth anymore the paper enables you to make them smooth again

Will work if there is no paneling alignment problems. I would also pull a rough coat of mud through the grooves.

I used wall liner in my parents basement over paneled walls. It works great, but a few suggestions! I never use prepasted anything, it doesnt work right imho, and i book the liner (and any wallpaper) longer than suggested as it sticks better!

Just another thought, I've also used thick, textured wallpaper (I know it has a name but can't think of it right now) to cover uneven plaster. That type of wallpaper is currently in my family room as the previous owners used it to cover the 70's paneling. I cannot see the lines of the paneling at all.

I have used liner over panelling BUT we wallpapered over the liner.
The liner is hung horizontally and then we wallpapered normal, vertical.

There is a smooth paintable liner paper available. We install all liners with VOV paste.
