Thanks for all your comments. We are going to go for mist glass by bliss. I am now trying to decide whether to just do the smaller subway tile size or the 3X12 size? I don't think I want to do other colors as accents. Thanks for any pros cons or advice.

I like the idea of the 3x 12 for a more modern look.

I don't have the budget or inclination to redecorate kitchens or baths every few years. One of the best pieces of advice I've had in choosing finishes and elements is "What looked good 10 and 20 years ago? People choose kitchen elements without thinking of the stuff that will be on the counter all the time. Make your choices a backdrop instead of a feature in and of itself. I'm glad you're not choosing a busy, heavily inflected pattern

Are you familiar with color changing LEDs? They aren't terribly expensive, last forever, and you can change them with a remote control or smart phone. Maybe that will give you blue when you want blue or gold when you're entertaining in the kitchen and want it to look lively.

I am going with the 3x12 bliss element most tile. It's the gray beige color. Now I am wondering what I should be considering when choosing grout? I like the idea of bright white bc I like the pop that creates and bc it will connect my cans. Any thoughts to consider?

Good choice in the Bliss element mist.

I would use grout to match the tile. If you use white, you will create another busy pattern.

Don't worry about connecting to the white cabinets. It will be fine. You can add a window treatment that is white and mist in color. That will pull it all together.

Agree with CDR, match the grout to the tile. It will be more cohesive

I put in an almond colored glass backsplash recently and I cannot take a photo with the undercab lghting on because the glass photographs bright green. I've got to say that is pretty disappointing so I leave the lights off most of the time. I love your choice and I know it looks beautiful in the right light.

Looks Great! I like the color much better than a blue. Remember to seal the grout multiple times if it will absorb sealer, and add a tiny bead of silicone caulk between the granite and the tile. Nice choice.

Thanks for the nice feedback. We did do the caulk. I am glad that we went with white grout. I have looked and my personal preference is white with this style of glass tile.

The new chairs are a much better choice!

Do you need 6 of them? If not, I would opt for 3 on the length and just one chair on each end. The additional chair could be held if you need additional seating.

I think we probably do need 6 chairs although I know that they are a bit tight in that space. I think these chairs are way better suited for our kitchen and lifestyle than the others. I am happy with the turn out. Now I think I need a pop of color soonewhere? Where and how can I do that ?

You need to bring the blue from the wine glasses around the room.....that is striking and such a perfect shade!!!

I can't recall the under cab lighting brand but it is a UV lighting which I am not too fond of. I prefer a softer warmer light color! They look like this.

We did a mother of pearl mosaic tile from tile bar.com for a client's beach home. Their kitchen cabinets and granite were very similar to yours.

Your kitchen looks beautiful and stunning. White onyx tile backsplash also looks good.

Stainless steel backsplash; its timeless and you're not married to a color.

I know this is an old post but, considering you have had the bliss mist installed for quite some time, would you say it is a greige color because sometimes it looks green or blue? I am considering this glass for my backsplash but I have a brown speckled granite counter top. Thank you

I think it definitely looks more gray than anything but depends on the lighting and what color the counter is. I say it is a Greige.

Hanks we are also debating between Element mist and smoke. When looking at the mist sample in our kitchen it sometimes look taupe and sometimes white. In pictures it looks gray. Does the tile look like a different color at different times of day? Do you still love it?

Also do you remember what brand and exact color you used for the grout? That looks sharp.
