Love those ideas, thank you! I see what you mean about the trim, any suggestions? What would you do with the wood space above the garage? Same color as the house or an accent color? We intentionally bought the ugliest house in the neighborhood and are hoping to give it a major facelift!

Your house does look like it has a crawl space in front of the house. In front of the house i would plant shrubs to hide the skirt. We live in a mobile home, and that was my initial idea to hide ours in 2011, But the winter of 2012 killed our metal shed. Sometimes it pays to procastinate. So we converted our crawlspace into a storage area; we made our own doors, added 3 columns of decorative stone, and are making other plans in how to use the land our pass away shed took

Our mobile home skirt was a plastic siding that was made to look like stone. In this pic we used a wood stain to darken it so it blended in with our home-made wooden doors

fl, you have a lot of color options for an all wood & masonry house, especially in your area. I might consider doing a dark gray on the left front from the trim down, kind of like a 'below the chair rail color' and repeat that dark gray on the little strip on the left side of the garage. Maybe a white or light gray on the rest of the body. But in any case, upload your house photo to a site with free paint software (such as the Sherwin Williams color visualizer) and try out several different combos. For your door, I have two words: Crestview Doors! Trust me, you will go crazy. The light kits are affordable - just need a plain door to fit them into - then you can paint aqua, coral, lime, whatever you wish. I think if you could move the replace the front door "something custom" not homedepot and move it to the left and add lighting to either side of the door. Not sure what's happening inside the house but a same size window behind where the tree is would even out that side of the house and wider window and door trim.. Some kind of hedge to cover up to just under the windows I think would also look great some kind of Privet or boxwood.Good luck with the project and most of all have fun and make it what you love and anything will look better than what was there!!

Add a deck to the front of the house. I know, decks belong in back of the house, but adding a roof over it says it is now a porch. Go figure. Our deck floor...er porch floor is about 3 feet in width. In the future, we want this porch to be a sun room. My objective, is for this sun room to collect enough solor radiation on cold but sunny days so our furnace never is needed during days like that.
