A tv in the kitchen but primarily to be used when preparing meals, not eating meals, unless you are alone.
I don't care for T.v. anywhere but if I had a home gym that is where I would put it!
Wow would I love the backyard TV, but not by the pool. I would need a couple of old convertible sportscars sitting in the back yard facing the screen so it could be my drive-in movie. Or maybe a circular drive that ran through the back yard we we could drive back there for a movie, then drive back to the garage.

Wow, Debbie Swede, I really like your style!

The Home gym is a given for me. Being distracted helps me work out longer!
I'm wired for a TV on my screened back porch. It's position will make it easily visible from the yard and patio but away from the elements.

Television in the kitchen is the most used t,v, in my house, News and weather forecast in the morning, cooking and instructional shows when working, and music the rest of the time. The kitchen is the heart of the home. Be comfortable in it!

Let's not rule out projection systems! Since they can solve the "nowhere to put a flat screen" problem. We had one in above store flat (430 sq.ft.) in Toronto. It pulled down in front our of wall to wall wardrobe at the foot of our bed!

I think that the kitchen would be the obvious winning answer to this poll question, but for me, I think the outdoor television would get more use from all of the family. We're outdoors a lot so having that as an option to watch the big game or for family movie night would be really great!

Tv's in the kitchen and work out areas are nice but in the bathrooms????
The bathroom photo of the TV between the 2 sinks looks great. We are planning to put a TV in our covered liani in our new Florida house.
Ooh, a tv on my covered deck off of the kitchen that faces the yard/woods. Ahhhh, drinking my morning coffee while watching the critters during commercials!
    Home gym,if I had one.
If I had a home gym, there would have to be a tv there. Possibly in the kitchen, so I could still keep up on the games when cleaning up.
Love to have one out on my balcony which is a good sized area. Nice little sofa, plants, put my feet up on an ottoman, all that fresh air! Maybe even have some hanging lanterns with candles burning! What a nice way to spend an evening don't you think?
I thought that reading the comments might help me understand this question. I guess I just don't watch enough TV to want more than one.

We just remodeled our kitchen & my husband's only request was a tv. Now we both love it! We can watch the news, a cooking show or stay up to date on a sporting event score while cooking.

I love tv and film so for me It would have to be the backyard , being outside means you could use Callander dates like Halloween or anytime and make it a social occasion for a party have lots of friends round stick on an old movie !!! But maybe move it slightly near a barn in case of bad weather
  • 12 years ago
I love the idea of a tv in the bathroom. News in the morning and relaxing in a hot bath with a movie would be awesome!
When you are cooking by yourself, TV keeps you company!!! And you can always bring in your crafts or even ironing to the kitchen while you watch your favorite show!
It would be great to have an internet-connected tv in a workout room because I do a lot of workouts I find online!
I would put it in the gym, much more enjoyable to exercise, and the time goes by quicker while you're watching so you'll do more!
i would put a tv in the bathroom, it happens to be a place for me to get some alone time.
TV in the Gym...exercise is so much easier when you are focused on something else!

Outdoor TV? Please consider your neighbors. You can watch TV any number of places, as this comment list demonstrates, but there is only one place to enjoy the peace and serenity of nature -outdoors. Don't take that away from other people. They have nowhere else to hear it.
Sometimes I start dinner a little late and I miss important dialog on a show while I'm cooking.
TV in the backyard? I don't know. Seems like Nature should be enough "entertainment" when we're able to be outside. There's plenty of time for TV-watching indoors when the weather's uncooperative. But I'm in upstate New York where our good days outdoors are definitely limited. Maybe for those in warmer climates outside TV would make more sense.

TV is not a "has to have" for me in any room.

With the exception of the closet, I think all of these places for a TV are likely. If I were to put in a second TV, the kitchen is most likely where I would put it. I like unconventional TV cabinets. I have a 120 year old wardrobe for my cabinet.

I would put a television in my bathroom, because that would keep me up to date on the news, weather and traffic in the mornings, while getting ready for work. I could see what the weather was going to be like for the day, so I could dress appropriately. To hear the traffic report, would help me to avoid an intersection that may be backed up, and allow me to get to work on time. And the news, just to keep me up to date on my local and worldly news. If I had a television in my bathroom, it would save me some time, to keep from sitting down in the evening to watch the news. Plus, I could soak in the tub while watching the home and garden channel.

If I had a gym, it could distract me from the gym's purpose, but in the kitchen would be much more practical.

We've had a small, undermount TV in our kitchen for the past 18 years. Couldn't live without it! We have a large flat screen in the bedroom but it gets much less use even though a much better TV. The laundry room would be a close second, because I hate doing the laundry!
Oh, gotta agree! Having TV in craft-sewing area would be great. When you get to that point when your project is on 'auto-pilot' it'd be great to have an old movie, or for a nerd like me, C-SPAN.

I have TVs in every bedroom and great room. I like the idea of one in the kitchen, and I think I will install one!
I doubt I will ever do any of these, but if I had the space and money I think a TV in the laundry room would be cool, as folding laundry is a tedious job.
I would put it in the kitchen and the gym.

I would put a TV in bathroom

Why would you put an apostrophe after TV? ;)

We don't often install TV's in the kitchen, but having a TV in the Workout room makes those hard workouts a little less painful. Thankfully.

I'd never put a TV above a kitchen sink, but yes in the kitchen. Yes, to an exercise room, and bathroom, but not that location in bathroom. I love the outside one, but only if I lived where it was a warmer climate year round.
None of the above! I hate that televisions are constantly in my face seemingly everywhere I go.
Oh yes, a TV in Almost every room, save the dining room. But rest assured, should need be, one could switch on a screen to be viewed from there as well.
