Has anyone bought from www.homary.com?

- 11 years agoJust curious missjcmitchell... why would you say that the items are illegal or counterfeit? They aren't claiming to be Hansgrohe or any other high end manufacturer.
I would assume that many of the American companies manufacture their items in China. Ordering them directly just makes them cheaper. At least that's what I would assume?
I have to say, I saw their site and have been scared to order from them, but your comments about the products have made me feel better!! - 11 years ago
Hello all, just wondering for those who have purchased from Homary.com, how do you find their products, in particular the Dree rainshower? Any issues thus far?
- 10 years agoI bought a bathroom faucet and the waterlines are not to Canadian standards. plumber wont install.

I bought two bathroom sink faucets and both look great and appear to be solid and well made. Products all arrived in several days. I also bought two rain showers with 6 body spays and a hand wand. Only complaint is that the connection pipes are too short after the tile is installed and extensions were needed to complete the connections. Some connections seemed to have small leaks at installation, but extra plumbers compound around the connection seems like it will be ok. Will turn on the water this week and will comment when I see it in action.

I ordered a chandelier light and I'm afraid to say it has been a total waste of over £150. The shade does not fit properly onto the ceiling canopy and they are refusing to send a new shade to replace it. I'm feel very disappointed and let down by this website.

The shower head I purchased here is made of really poor quality plastic. Although they claim it's ABS plastic, it is nothing like the higher end brand name products. In addition, the valve that came with the product had rust stains on all the openings. When asked about it through their CS, they claimed that they were watermarks that were left behind because they had to test every valve that it ships. I'm sorry but other products by other brands don't have this problem. When customers buy something, it better look new and this product didn't. When asked to return the product, the customer has to pay for shipping all the way to CHINA! The CS rep told me to just sell it on eBay. Really? What poor customer service! Just checked the pricing to ship the product to China. It'll be $98 which is about the same price as the shower head. That's ridiculous!

I am nervously awaiting the delivery of two crystal wall sconce's that I ordered on 28 April - like most other people, I thought I was ordering from another destination - not China.
I have been told that my items are not in stock and are being made - this seems unusual - I hope I have not been ripped off.
The lights look stunning online so we will see what they actually are when and if they arrive - will re-post with outcome.

I purchased a light fitting from Homary last week. Their service was prompt and so was delivery but unfortunately you need to be careful when purchasing from them as their standards or wiring do not comply with Australia or the UK. I paid AUD$400 for a light fitting and then had to pay my electrician to rewire part of it to include the relevant earth wire to comply with our Safety Code. I did write to them to explain this but they run you around in circles with no real acknowledgment or interest in what happens once they've been paid. They do include a small ring with a small amount of earth wire in the packet of fittings, which my electrician did use to earth the top part of the light but as it is metal, it still didn't qualify for the whole light. Fortunately my electrician (who is from the UK) knows his stuff and simply said he would not fit it the way it is because it is unsafe. I am just pleased that he could modify it as I am not sure how obliging they would have been if I had to return it.

I bought a 3 function shower controller/thermostatic valve. Besides no installation instructions I was able to figure it out. The only problem is it seems no matter ho tight you get the male fittings they still leak. I'm 230 and a contractor. It's not my first shower valve. So far I haven't been able to get it to quit leaking. Going t try something else in the morning. Be Leary of the quality control of these products. If I can solve this great, if not I've wasted $250. Best of luck to the rest here.

As a follow up to my post last night I finally got the valve to stop leaking. The 3/4" sockets for the hot and cold seemed to bottom out before the tapered threads tightened all the way. Finally I coated both the female socket and the male fitting with pipe dope and for now it has stopped leaking. Ureka! The valve does accomplish two important items for me. I was able to install horizontally to cover an old two handle tub shower valve and I have a thermostatic valve for the grand kids. Later I can add a handheld if wanted but I may be done with this since a 4-5 hr job turned into a 10 hr. Not sure I want to touch this again, lol. Wish some of the American suppliers would make a valve like that again. Delta used to but seems to have discontinued. Hope this info will save someone else the hassle.

Don't buy from them! I ordered a freestanding tub faucet which was defective, and they wouldn't take it back because it had been 40 days. (It took that long for the plumber to install it, then to come back to try to fix the leak which wasn't possible.) I spent $150 each time the plumber came out. Homary offered me $10 and sent a replacement part for the handle. By this time, I was so wary of them, that I just ordered from the states where I could talk to someone during my daytime and who would let me return it if it was defective. I learned a very expensive lesson!

I ordered two light fixtures from homary . They came in a reasonable amount of time, and the quality on them was great. They are definitely knock offs of a high end designer fixture, but I can barely tell the difference and the were a fraction of the cost. Lighting has not been installed yet so I cannot attest to it working or not, but my electrician has already seen it and everything seemed good. And Even if they ended up not working and I had to have them re wired, they would still be awesome because they were so cheap and I saved a thousand dollars purchasing these instead of the real deal. Love them!!!!
I totally recommend this website. Like others, I was extremely skeptical but I went ahead and ordered over $500 of products - shower and tub faucet, two bathroom sink faucets and two bathroom vanity lights. I absolutely love everything. I do have to return the sink faucets because I ordered the wrong height (totally my fault) so I'll see how they handle exchanges and update you. The shipment was received very quickly (ordered on Sunday evening received everything on Thursday). The customer service was very responsive and answered all my questions. I think this website is my little hidden jewel and I have already told friends and family.

I purchased bath and basin faucets and a shower set. The
photo is deceiving and the whole thing is of poor quality. I sent it back for a
refund and ended up paying £168.90 in postage which I will not be able to claim
back. What's more I got this from them when I asked for a refund…… "By the
way, if it is because they are not suitable for current condition or there is
no chance to utilize currently, you may consider keeping them for another
project or reselling them to someone who likes it on eBay or at your local.
Several of our customers did in this way and some even made a small profit, you
may also have a try. These plumbing products are of high quality and with
attractive design, you could set your mind at rest either to keep them for use
or resell....." SERIOUSLY?I will never again trust products from Homary
- 10 years agoI was skeptical. I shopped for "nice" things for a new shower and prices very expensive. I found Homary. They did not have exactly what I wanted... overhead rain shower, waterfall, and hand shower all in nickel. So Customer Service combined pieces and parts to give me exactly what I wanted. Changing from a tub spout to a waterfall spout and adding a 3-way diverter (in nickel) added $45 to my order. I opted to not get the LEDS. My total price was $340. other companies are charging $800- $900 for just the waterfall. Candy at Customer Service gave me so many options. My shower is now a comfy, cozy, refreshing, work of art. I am having a very bad experience with this company. I bought a pendant for £150 and when it arrived it was partly broken. Aside from this it looks cheap and flimsy and not worth this money. We are trying to return it and I have so far had about 6 essays from 'Annie' in customer service telling me how great the quality of their products are and am I sure I can't keep the light and utilise it. They are refusing to pay for the return postage and have instead offered me £90 to keep the light and sell it on myself!! She keeps telling me that the issue is not a quality one even though it arrived broken and I have sent the obligatory photo to them to prove it. I think for anyone that is happy with their goods this company works out well but if you want to option to return something then don't even go there is my advice!! I am now trying to make a claim through my credit card company but have to get quotes from the post office tomorrow to see if they will cover the cost of postage but seeing as this item as to go all the way back to China and is very heavy I would imagine I will be at a loss.Really don't know how companies like this are allowed to operate. They are scam artists running an inferior business dressed up as high quality...the power of online!!

I reccomend you dont buy from homary it is very low quality for its price, i bought a shower kit and the tub faucet broke in my hands it seems like was just glued on. After working on my kit for two days i realized i couldnt make it work because we needed special pieces from britain and are not sold in canada I wasted two days on this crap. They wont refund me i lost all my money...had to buy brand new kit somewhere else. Very dissapointed. They dont care about theyre clients only the money

I just write a dispute to Homary. i will show what is the resolution.
They told me to send back to china or tray to sale for my self.
The price for return to china is 94 dollars and i suppose to pay for it.
First that lamp for that price is a robbery, it is of a very poor quality. You know that lamp is not worth more than 10 dollars; But not only that, the connection cables were tied with black tape that was not even protecting the cables. Other cables do not provide protection. The electrician who came to install it informed me that I was not safe and that I was putting my family in danger. The cost to send it is very high and I also do not trust you anymore. If it seems right, the best way to solve this dispute is: give me back the total of the money that I was ripped off, take the 10 dollars that your product is worth, and I'll do it myself in the trash.Thank you, I'm looking forward for your answer.
when i get the resolution i will let you know - 9 years ago
Never never order from them. They are quick in responding to emails- but are useless. Please see string of emails between us. I bought kitchen mixer, worked ok for 2 months- although not used much as we have dishwasher. I spend £80 on mixer, then had to pay £20 customs duties, so total of £90. In emails they are telling me how to easy fix the leak, so I keep sending them video to prove it cannot be fixed as this is design issue. In the end they are offering me generous £8 refund.... PLEASE DO NOT BUY FROM THEM- better spend extra £100 in UK and get decent items with quality and proper warranty and customer service!!!!

- 9 years agoI bought a faucet from homery and while its beautiful and what seems to be well constructed the only problem you will all have is it will leak maybe not. NOw but later and its because the threads dont match what we use in america. We use whats called npt national pipe thread and they use bspt british standard pipe thread see difference below if you cant see that picture below google the difference between npt and bspt it will tell you they are not compatible and unless u have a smart plumber or one who cares he will just add extra pipe dope and move on. Unless they use standard threads they should not be sold here. Or if they made the valve body to be sweated that would solve one problem the other problem is they set the thread on all fixtures to be male end and limit you to the wall thickness. We use female drop els and a plumber can buy multiple depth nipples the attach fixtures unless they make installation to american standards no one should buy it. It was disappointing to my customer . And its difficult to tell someone to spend more to buy american but in the long run they did anyway because it wasted the plumbers time had to go out and buy something else held ip the job it was a mess. You get what you pay for the cheapest isnt always the best but the product is beautiful and feels like quality but oh well hope this is helpful

@Danielle M- thanks for your comment. We have received such feedbacks of the different thread issue and have made an improvement now. Our regular thread spec of the connectors of the hot&cold waterlines is G1/2", British Standard Pipe Parallel (BSPP). But for customers in North America, we especially prepare the waterlines of the single hole bathroom and kitchen faucets with G3/8" connectors, which can work directly with NPT3/8" stop valves/water supplies. For the shower systems, our thread spec is G, BSPP. And we will also include needed G to NPT adapters for the shower valve for our customers in North America. Then if you have a different thread spec, such as Compression or else, you may easily get the thread adapters at your local hardware stores.

I ordered three large Tom Dixon Etch light fixtures (knockoffs), and unfortunately didn't do my due diligence prior to ordering. The company is in fact in China and I read reviews after ordering. That being said, my experience was mixed. When the lights arrived, I was very disappointed in the quality and construction and immediately began correspondence with the company. When the package arrived, only one of the three lights arrived in the initial delivery. I contacted Homary by email and the multitude of emails began. I was expecting a lot of back and forth and stalling as I had read in other threads and reviews, and thats exactly what happened. They wanted me to take photos and so forth to better explain to their "concerned" department. I did not want to touch the fixtures in fear that I would be blamed for any damage. I explained that this is an internal request from the company and is not an obligation I have as a consumer. It is also not stated in the return policy which I gladly copied and pasted for their perusal. I stood my ground and explained that I was concerned about returning the items and getting a refund. I was told in every email "please don't worry" and my response was I am worried. This is where the surprise comes in! They suggested that I keep the one fixture that was delivered and accepted and that I refuse the delivery of the remaining two items. I was to refuse and return to sender. All they asked was that I provide a new tracking number which I did. I took a photo of the new tracking number and emailed it to them. They replied and said they are just waiting for this item to come back to their facility. This made me nervous as I thought they would stall and say that they have not received the item etc until 30 days had passed. Within a few days they confirmed the package was enroute. When the package arrived they said a refund would be issued within 24 hours and I was to check with the credit card company. Sure enough, in a couple of days, the refund was issued and I was basically given one of the light fixtures at no cost. Surprisingly quick delivery and return/refund process. I was ultimately impressed!!! Bottom line is you get what you pay for

One of my thoughts is some of the US companies have the same exact item, same photo, and US cost more while Homary cost less. Who's to say that the US company you buy from for more, didn't buy their product from Homary/China and then pass it on to you?
Update! For customers in North America, we now especially prepare the waterlines of the single hole bathroom and kitchen faucets with Compression 3/8" connectors, which can work directly with Compression 3/8" stop valves. If you have a different thread spec, you may easily get the thread adapters at your local hardware stores.

I bought a lamp from Homary. It cost 250 US Dollars and I was promised delivery within 3-5 days to France. It took three weeks as it was held at customs. I had endless communication with Homary. Countless e mails repeating politely that I must go to the customs office and declare the value of the lamp at 65 USDollars, i paid 250 USDollars and customs was in Paris. 5 hours away! I went to the main post office locally four times, they finally advised that Homary had not included the correct paperwork. Homary then corrected this, the lamp arrived lamp but I had to pay a further 48 euros customs!! Unfortunately the lamp was too big it cost 107 euros to send back. I asked for compensation for the delay and hassle I had . They sent a measly 36 US dollars which with exchange costs and PayPal gave me about 28 pounds. NEVER again. Shocking service and hidden costs
- 8 years ago
Oh and when I wrote to Homary that I was returning the lamp they suggested I sell it on e bay instead?...!

I ordered a $42 shower arm from Homary. I paid by credit card and got the order confirmation email. All seems good. But when DHL (the courier they hired) shipped the item, they charged me $21 in "customs fees". 50% of the price! There was never mentioned in the order page nor the order confirmation email. When I pointed this out with customer service, they pointed me to a "shipping" page with a lot of fine print. I told them that I want to return the item and get a refund but they said I would have to pay for shipping the item back to them and cannot get refund for the "custom" fees. So I would have to spend money to get $42 of the $63 I already spent for a 1 foot pipe. Obviously not worth it. This is unthinkable with legit merchants here in Canada.
I feel that I've been had. I would never order from Homary again! The prices might look a little better but it is not worth it.
Never order from Homary!
@Rey-thanks for your comment. In order to save customs fees as much as possible for you, we declared the total value of the shipment at only US$20, equals to about CAD$25.44, which is much less than the real value. As the tax threshold in the Canada is extremely low, only about CAD$20. What's more, the customs in your country are doing a much stricter inspection and according to the DHL carriers, we can't declare the value too low, otherwise they won't accept the shipping request. Also the product and size of your package didn't allow us to declare a lower value, or your country customs may calculate the value themselves and you will be charged much more customs fees. I'm sorry for not being able to avoid the customs fees for you.
Actually, the custom clearance info has already been listed on the product page (in the Shipping&Returns column), also the FAQ. To learn more about the customs clearance, please check the links below:

Many thanks for your kind understanding. - 8 years ago
Yes, I got this response also from Homary. They wrote me a mail to say to customs the lamp only had a value of 65 USDollars when I'd paid £250. I couldn't lie to Customs? Who do they think they are dealing with?. Oh and by the way .. you can always sell it on e bay If you don't want to lay to return it ! That one really annoyed me . I felt like unpaid staff in a dishonest operation.
- 8 years agoThey sell items that have the look of many popular items you will see elsewhere for 10 times less the cost. So for people who are shocked that it's made in China or isn't of the same quality they are just insane to think they were getting a $1000 fixture for $100. If you want the look you're after for a fraction of the cost and are willing to sacrifice brand and quality then this is the place for you. They manufacturer most of the items to order so a minimum 1 month lead time would be best. Knowing all of this you'd think the customer service would be non existent but in reality they provide crazy good customer service. Email responses always come same day and they have dealt with any issues I've had perfectly.
@Serge8u: Why do you say "sacrifice quality?" Do you think the quality isn't up to par? Since even many of the well-known brands are manufactured in China, I would assume that the quality would be that much different —— but am curious what you think since you you have actually purchased items from them. Would you mind telling me what you did purchase? Are you happy with it? Are you a US customer? Thank you!
I bought a shower set and faucet in the USA.
Yes, you are dealing with China and considering that practically all of our products are made in China I don't see what the fuss is. For example the Ridge Angled Spout Single Hole Vessel Sink Waterfall Faucet # 0020002-2 is selling at Home Depot as the Vigo Single Hole Single-Handle Vessel Bathroom Faucet in Chrome # VG03007CH. Home Depot charges $150 vs $97 at Homary.
On another note, I ordered a shower set and did not consider measurements well so I had to return it. Homary asked me to ship the pretty big box to California and not China.
Lastly, someone mentioned the cheap ABS shower head. Take note that materials are mentioned in the specs and I ordered a extra full brass shower head and a full brass handheld shower. This makes the shower sets more durable and yes, it's better to hold the heft of brass than flimsy ABS plastic. I don't know if a brass shower head is worth the cost and weight vs the ABS one that is usually included in the sets.
Will report more after installation.

Yes, I bought 3 lights and when I received them, the color was different from what is on the website, I ordered gray, they sent chrome. their solution was to send me the clear at a cost of $90 to me? So, they were acknowledging that there was misrepresentation, but not taking responsibility for it and sending me the clear ones at no charge. I'm considering a dispute with my credit card company.
Go for it, shocking company. We ended up 200 dollars out of pocket with their customs charges and poor customer relations. They talk the talk but don't deliver
- 8 years ago
@s1c2. Thank you for your comment and sorry for the inconvenience. The color of this light is electroplated, maybe the manufacturer electroplated it a little dark that caused it looks like metallic/chrome finish. But we can confirm the lights we sent are in grey color. Actually, after installing the bulb and turned on the light, the grey color would be more obvious. Besides, you said that you want to change the light color to clear, so we offered three clear lights at free to you. Just you will need to share parts of the shipping cost with us, which is US$90 as you mentioned. Anyway, we sincere apology for the inconvenience caused to you and are trying our best to help. Considering your situation and concerned, I applied to the manager, if you prefer the clear lights, we are glad to offer three new clear lights to you all at our expense. Hope this will help.
If there is anything else we can do for you, feel free to let us know. - 8 years ago
Homary, this should have been your response when I first contacted you and sent you photos of the color difference. Customers should never have to pay, shipping or otherwise to correct a problem caused by you. Good customer service offers to take care of the problem right away, not causing aggravation to the customer.
- 8 years agolast modified: 8 years ago
After many emails back and forth they offered a $60 credit when I asked for $100. They said I misunderstood that I would also get the 3 clear pendants as well. all in all this was a headache. I'll probably not ever order from them again. I suggest you avoid them too.
I'm considering buying from Homary but am definitely concerned after reading some of these reviews.
It is very normal in the Chinese culture that they don't like to honor their commitments if something goes wrong in the purchase because they run on low margins and if they end up having to pay for shipping on a replacement then they loose money and the CHINESE DO NOT LIKE TO LOSE MONEY!.
Sometimes i feel like I get good value from Chinese suppliers and other times it is just junk. Many people will say that higher priced goods which we buy in the States are also made in chinese factories. What these people don't understand is that these products are engineered to meet a certain specification and randomly checked by american companies to ensure they meet that spec. A young Chinese factory will manufacture cheap junk because they often do not realize their mistakes and also do not load test the products they make simply because they don't have the experience or understanding. An experienced Chinese manufacturer has usually been in business for a long period of time and refuses to make junk simply because they have the engineering knowledge and load testing experience and they also don't want to risk losing important relationships.
- 8 years agoStay away from this company!! I purchased a bathroom faucet from them which was defective. The faucet had a terrible leak which my plumber was not able to repair. I contacted the company asking for a refund. They suggested that I reinstall the faucet (added cost of plumber) take a video, pictures, and a a written explanation of what the problem was with the faucet. Unbelievable!!!!! I have never encountered customer service like this. I am now trying to dispute this purchase with my credit card company.
Please consider buying only from a reputable company. I should have known better!! - 8 years ago
Are your Lights CASE or CSA approved please? or Approved for use in Canada? and if so how do we get a certificate for it? HOMARY LIMITED
- 8 years ago
@Carolyn Richmond. Firstly we'd like to express our sincere apology for the inconvenience caused to you. Frankly, we didn't expect to let you spend any money to provide us more information. If it is not convenient for you to take a video to show us where and how it leaks, it is even OK that you can just point out the leak position, which is necessary for us to confirm the problem and work out a solution. Anyway, sorry again for the inconvenience and we will surely try our best to meet your satisfaction and solve it for you asap, please don't worry.

I'm about to make my 3rd purchase of faucets. I have been extremely please with the quality, unlike anything available from even the higher end manufacturers. Basically, the first order my rationale was, worst case - I have $129 "spare". When i opened the box, the piece was exquisite and exceeded even my highest hope. My contractor literally whistled when he saw it. When we discussed the cost, he promptly called me a liar. Lol I'm so down with their quality I'm ordering for every phase of my remodel. BOOM.
I ordered the 12" Dree Rainfall shower kit and 2 waterfall wall-mount bathroom faucets. Their quality looks incredible, but I fear I will never get to use them to see if the are because no one at @Homary_Limited can give me complete installation instructions to pass onto my plumber. I have tried several representatives to see if anyone can answer my question:
HOW FAR INTO THE FINISHED WALL DOES THE FAUCET (SINK) NEED TO BE AND HOW FAR INTO THE WALL DOES THE SHOWER VALVE NEED TO BE
Items:Faucets: 0020001-76
Shower Head/Valve: 0020001-76
I have attached generic drawings highlighting the measurements I need (also attached here), and they're still not able to help. Without these measurements, my plumber can't install. My remodel has been at a stand-stil because of this. I tried to call several times during their posted hours too (Live Chat is NEVER available), but there is some very strange recording that plays (people talking about how annoying small talk is).
Beware when buying from them as any communication is severely delayed and unhelpful.
If anyone else can offer advice, I'd greatly appreciate it!

The item I received from Homary is a bad knock off. I ordered a chandelier and the photos of the chandelier are the same photos that Wayfair and Birchlane use. Wayfair sells this wood chandelier for $400 and Homary sells it for $289. I placed my order and what arrived is a terrible knock off. You can tell it is a knock off because one, the wood is totally untreated and two, in the original version it is one piece of wood for the chandelier arm and there is an indent on the inside where the wire lays. This one has two pieces of wood fused together. When I contacted homary they tired to tell me it was the tint on my computer screen is why it looked different, which was insulting. They then tried to offer me a measly 15 USD back, also insulting. The quality of this chandelier including assembly yourself is worth to me Max 90 USD.
I would return it but it seems like there are a lot of reasons why they wouldn't refund me also it appears they are insisting I pay to ship it back even though it is not what I ordered and they are falsely putting up fake photos on their own website. If I don't feel comfortable that I will receive my money back through further correspondence I will be placing a quality dispute with my credit card company. - 7 years agoI purchased a beautiful shower system with thermostatic control valve in chrome finish. had everything installed and ready to close up for diy tile during long holiday weekend, but couldn't get water connections to stop leaking. come to find out, all fittings are g12 European, not 1/2" American. very similar size that will thread, but not seal no matter how much pipe dope you put on... we obviously didn't tile and eventually located a brass fitting to join the g12 to 1/2", which we saudered for permanent join. so far so good, no leaks. one other note, don't bother splurging the extra for led lights in rain shower. the turbine that powers this only works intermittently and with an awful noise. I took shower head apart and removed turbine. other than those two issues, I would most likely order something from Homary again.
