Beautiful! I like the chandelier. Looks like you just need to accessorize. I wouldn't cover up the arch of the window so maybe custom blinds? What color are the walls?

The wall color isn't saying "warm family dinner" to me...potential it lighten it up?

Jera, what a beautiful room! Gorgeous paint finish on walls. Do you need to cover the windows at night for privacy? Those corner cabinets look like fun to decorate, try to keep it simple and not over accessorize. Do you collect anything in particular that you could begin filling them with?

Would also love to see a pic of chandy in daylight with no lights on. Looks very nice.

Thank you. The wall color is prairie grass from Sherman Williams. I’m having a hard time decorating. I’m trying to decide if I should buy the chairs that match the table or just use cloth. The table has intricate carvings from the Jason Scott collection. Also, I’m thinking formal curtains even though we have shutters in the rest of the house. I plan to upload more photo of the rest of the house with natural light.

Keep the red chairs. I love it with the greenish walls. I agree with ASVInteriors above.
If you want chairs to match the table, buy two chairs for the head of the table.

I like the wall colour! The corner cabinets seem to have a faux finish (or is it the reflection from the chandelier?). If so, they would flow better with the room if they were painted the same colour as the trim. Assuming you're keeping the red chairs, consider painting the inside of the cabinets the same red. Lower the chandelier about 36" from the table. Add some taller chairs at the end of the table or change the chairs for these two styles (mix and match). Adding sheers to the window would warm up the room without hiding the architectural details.

The problem is the back of the chairs are too low, you need bigger chairs with this table! That's the only thing wrong! Of course window treatments would look great!

The room need fabric at the windows, and some artwork. The chairs look like they came out of a catering hall, they are just wrong. I'd find something with a higher back, a less garish shade.

Pair of silver candlesticks. Don't cover the carvings on your table all the time. Look at the White House for some ideas re your china cupboards. I cannot get over how palatial that place is! Nicer than Buckingham palace, too.

Raise the lighting. The room looks too dark

Lovely architectural details and the wall colour is fine. I'm not sure about the red in the chairs either - how about some taller chairs - simple, to match your table and then introduce the "flair" with gold trimmings - goes great with green - so table runner and window blind in cream and gold and consider painting the two cabinets in cream. White can be a bit stark with green. Fill your cabinets with cream, white and gilt-edged glass and crockery - that would "lift" the feel of the room and give it a sparkle.

Actually maybe just some gilt trim would do the job on the cabinets! The gold would pick up on the rich accents in your lovely painting, as well.

Hi Jera! Your chair's cushion color (red) does'nt match the rest of the beautiful interior - change it to some rich pearl color and you'll see the rest fall into place. sheer vertical blinds are just what's missing and to light up that painting on the wall - put up a picture light.
A nice light colored rug will highlight your dining table as it's blending at the moment with the floor. Nothing major is needed just a bit of changes :)
    Good Luck!

You have such a beautiful space, but I don't think the chairs are doing it justice. I feel they are too small, and too simple. The chairs would be a great way to add some additional visual interest, something like this:

I do agree that the current chairs are too small. Your dining room chairs play an important role in the décor of your dining room and I would like to see a more decorative and substantial chair. I do have to say that I LOVE the red. I think it adds such life to the room and for me I think red is the color to go with.

If you need some window covering for privacy, I would suggest installing white sheers on a rod two squares down from the top and then have the bottoms of the sheers come down to cover about one-half inch of the top of the bottom window trim. I agree with another poster that red items would look great in the cabinets, and you might find a few red-covered books and vases to display. Since you have so many solid colors in the room, I would suggest a white china with red in the painted floral or other design on the china. You might also put a red or red and white print runner on the table lengthwise. If you would like them, you might add crosswise runners that correspond with the side chairs so that the runners also serve as placemats. For a metallic accent, I would suggest silver as in candle holders, bowls, mint julep cups, and frames on mirrors and wall art.
