oh nice tile! Interesting space! I would start off by adding a base board and a trim around that big opening in the first picture. Keep all the trim and base boards white and maybe choice a niece nutraul color for the walls (up to you). I'd continue that color into all of the open space. Hide all wires as best as possible and paint any pipes white to have them blend in. Get a new pendant light fixture, a darker gray or patterned rug to define the space, some furniture (add some wood pieces and pop color furniture), and put up some art work and decorations.
