Our gas fireplace needed to be replaced and it desperately needed an design update. We had a professional install a Napoleon gas fireplace and then it was up to my husband and I to complete the look. We wanted our family room to have a cozy lodge feel and I think we achieved it.

The hearth is covered in natural slate, and the mantle is a reclaimed beam from a pig barn.

The wall paper is Austin Plaid Lodge Wallpaper, and the rest of the walls have been painted with Af-170 French Press ( Benjamin Moore ) in a matte finish.

The room is still a work in progress, which is half the fun.
