C'mon anybody...battery or prewire ?

depends on the construction of the windows and how hard they will be to get to.

the more difficult they are to reach, the less desirable it will be to have to change batteries.

If you "pre-wire" I recommend installing a 110v outlet in or near the top of the window to use a "plug-n-play" motorized system instead of a hard-wired system. If the shade ever needs to be serviced, the hardwired systems usually need an electrician involved to remove them.

I have some friends in Florida who just added motorized window shades (wired) and they love them. If you wish I can ask for more details

If your windows are very large, you may want to do the motorized shades to preserve the roll up mechanism. I was told that the motorized would last longest, followed by the loop cord, followed by the manual pull (which is what I actually preferred, for simplicity). Access and visual clutter of batteries/cords/outlets/remotes are also a consideration..

These help a lot , really appreciate people....thanks eh! The prewire from the builder is ridiculously expensive so I'm going with battery . Should get the same effect without the central transformers or cost. Txs again
