It is very hard to see your house as the picture is dark.

Shutters have to be perfect, or else do not install them. The correct size is so important. Shutters (whether operational or not) should cover the glass in the windows. That was the original intention…safety. Skinny vinyl ones do absolutely nothing for curb side appeal. You are showing windows which are side by side. Imagine if each shutter were to cover the window? The shutter would be huge.

For a mid-century ranch, I vote not shutters, but concentrate on fabulous double doors instead.

Personally, I would not do white for the soffit and gutters, but a gray, Then I would paint the window frames gray, also.

It is an awful picture, it is so hard to get a decent one because there are huge oaks you can't see in the shot and lots of shade and the porch is set back and shadowy. Thank you so much for the advice. I love the picture you attached. Maybe I will rethink the white soffit. The only thing is the roof is light brown, and still has life in it especially after a power wash. Will grey look ok with the brown? That's interesting about the shutters. I'm so glad I posted and got your response because that makes sense. I will try to add more shots.

i wouldn't do shutters, but if you want the windows to have more presence, you might put thick boards as "moulding" around them, to make them stand out a bit more from the brick. they seem to get a little lost right now.
