You need some color , have you thought of painting the walls to the left with an accent color to add some dimension to the room ? some big wall art and other smaller paintings on the other wall ,the one with the window. You can use theleft side of the window for an interesting composition.
You might also like to buy a table runner and carpet that matches or contrast the paint color. There is so much you can do in this room!!

I like your wall color, but I do think you need some wall art and maybe a really awesome focal point on your table. What about curtains for your window? As the above comment mentioned- you could even add a rug. Also, what about a chandelier or a neat hanging light to add a focal point?

You need to add some serious personality into this space: patterned light-colored slipcovers on the end chairs would help, along with a nice table runner and tall centerpiece- or better yet, a unique chandelier. I would make the long wall the feature wall: paint is the simplest solution, adding a fantastic wall tattoo or stencil would take it to the next level. Are you the owner or renting? Temporary wallpaper may be another idea, or large scale bold-fabric panels would help. Think of adding a narrow server along the long wall, with a big mirror and maybe sconces on each side to give you the options of additional lights. Good luck!

I love your floor, it's a great color! Project Guru just about covered it. I like slipcovering the chairs, adding a mirror - anything to lighten and open up the space. I think adding a table runner in a light weight and light color would spiffy up the table as would a centerpiece. You've got a nice space there, try different size pieces of art or frames pictures you have to see what sizes you like before you go out to look for things. It should save you some time when you go out to look for things to buy. Don't be afraid to try something. If it doesn't work you can return it!

This space doesn't appear large enough to pull the chairs out and sit down on them. Can you even open the door with it in there? Can you find another space for it?

Table and chairs too big for the space. Sorry, but a smaller set with a leaf for bigger when you need it. This would open up decorating ideas

If you are on a budget, I would purchase long cream linen panels (like from IKEA) hung 8" above your window. I would also get a rug. A large abstract art (full of color!) on your long wall, and a sofa table on your enclave with a mirror above so you could use it as a buffet when having a party. Lastly, I would add a lot of very tall glass candlesticks up and down your table. ()

Can you post a picture with the chairs pushed into the table? Odd that the light fixture and window are off center. What does the door lead to? As asked above - can you post a pic standing at the window please. A floor plan would help as well.

drama. Wainscoting in a different color. Or just paint the lower portion and then a band of dif color for a "painted" wainscoting. Can you do wall paper over one wall or is the texture too much? Other ideas above for chair coverings, table runner. Def need a window treatment and can go to ceiling for drama if not too dif a color from walls so that you'd have drama but texture. And the pic above of the blue gray with the gold - I've seen that work in a small room with even darker paint but they had good light form exterior window. She did trim in white for window and doors. It was lovely with her paintings that all had a slightly metallic frames or touches. With enough lighting above form chandelier and with mirror you can do something like that. So glad you posted this.

Keep floors bare; lower chandy to 36” off table top and then hang a HUGE piece of art on the long solid wall.

I would remove the doors that separate the dining room and living room. Since the room is small, perhaps go with a bold color on the walls for dramatic effect. Put patterned curtain panels on the window.

It is definitely a good idea to lower the chandelier & center it. Either by moving the table closer to the door & the closet or moving the light fixture A sofa table or buffet would look good in the alcove next to the closet. How many chairs do you have? I think drapes would make the room look smaller, so maybe a valance would work. You could coordinate it with a table runner & bowl on the table & candle sticks on the buffet.

I see what you all are saying but I cannot remove the doors to the dining room. Lucyhomedecor, I like your idea about placing the buffet tangle in the alcove next to the closet. Do you have any ideas of buffets that may work with my existing chairs and table?

I think you need to cover your floor with an area rug.

Is there any way you can angle out your table so that one of the chairs has it's back to the wall to the lesft of the window??? Not sure if you have room to do that. In any case, I would put a soft fabric shade on the window & then stack 3 prints on the wall to the left. Slipcover the chairs. Paint the base of the table white. Tablescape like maggie2 suggested.

I agree with janeinfo and project guru! If you could hange the lighting to a more interesting chandelier too, that'd do a lot.

Paint the walls the grey? In the rug to pull the two rooms together, hang an assortment of empty white frames on the diamond (hang by one corner) on the long wall. I have a similar table, I painted everything but the top an unobtrusive color that pulled from the other colors in the adjacent rooms. put a tree or grasses in a tall skinny navy painted container on the left side of the window for balance and either leave the window bare or cover it with a transparent shade. Do not clutter that room. Attach fabric that mirrors the pattern in the rug like a runner up the back of the chair, over the seat and down the front.

here is an idea ,if you like to keep it simple, create the illusion of a wider window .
