How high is the counter the tv is sitting on?

What sort of material is used in the cabinet doors above the TV? I want to have cabinet doors rather than open spaces to store components but still need ability to access them via remote control. Thanks!

It is a metal mesh, or 'chicken wire' insert that you purchase and have your cabinet manufacturer install. Try looking at Outwater Plastics web site...they have several patterns and finishes to choose from.

I am also concerned about having access to components and the sub woofer via radio frequency. My husband says wood doors will not work but I am not a huge fan of the fabric insets. Any suggestions?

Radio frequency remotes will work fine behind wood cabinets. Normal remotes that come with TVs, cable boxes, DVD players, etc., use InfraRed(IR). These will not work behind your door without an IR repeater. You can look them up on Amazon. Works well and keeps everything hidden.

Thanks, man44a, I will look on Amazon for the repeater. Do you have any suggestions for the sub woofer? It is part of the sound system for Bose sound system.
