I have promoted Ikea three times in 48 hrs because the colours were right for the rooms in question. I don't work for them or get anything. I don't guarantee my advice. Buyer beware. Sieglerdesign you made me cry last week because I cared about your headache, and these ladies are much more caring than I am. You could not possibly have the time to put in that they do, helping people with the sensitivity and caring that they, and so many other amateur or retired designers do, on Houzz. I love Houzz and its democratic spirit. Calm down. Everyone is o.k. because we are all Houzzers together.

I saw a cute green alligator pillow from Target!

Siegler-I think that it is not appropriate to take over a poster feel. totally inappropriate no matter how you feel or who is right or wrong.
Chook, now I'm the one getting the headache but you don't have to cry - in fact you should laugh, and we all should laugh because this is really very funny!

Siegler I knew you were trouble the first time I read a comment from you on Houzz. My OPINION hasn't changed.

Karemore is not a professional shopper, she is helping on a dilemma. Her suggestions are for the OP and for no one else. There shouldn't be any commentary on her ideas, only the OP needs to worry about them. If they like them, they will look into the items suggested and make their own decisions. All people are not sheep, they will do what they want to do.

AGAIN-stating the fact that this is someone's thread and this bs is childish.

Saratogaswizzlestick is right about the wearing qualities of cotton velvet. We have Edwardian antique chairs with vintage velvet on and they have lasted superbly. However one red cotton velvet drape got cut by a toddler with scissors! They are the best insulators in Winter.

I appreciate any ideas and advice offered on houzz! It's up to me to research the product before I purchase it, it's not the responsibility of the designer to know the background of the items, especially when offering free and much appreciated advice!

I hope lasmar1 will be back to continue her room with those who were helping her so graciously.

And I got all excited thinking all these comments were for me, lol, j/k :)

Siegler- calling for calm;)) You certainly have given us a birds eye view of what it would be like dealing with you as a hired pro???

Simply unfreaking believable that Karemore's generous act of providing such a thoughtful panoply of inspirational items for the homeowner would be denigrated. I am blissfully unaware of any "rule" barring anybody but card-carrying "professionals" from providing inspiration photos. Nor have I been apprised of any rule or policy requiring the sender of such missives to vouch for the quality of the items depicted. Indeed, the whole point of Houzz is to hear people's ideas and perspectives on a particular design issue. That anybody could respond to an act of generosity with such pompous, unbridled arrogance is truly pathetic.

And I have favourably reviewed Pure Home for the professional way they always give advice and the help that I get with my own home from reading it.

Sieglerdesign' s previous remarks seem to have disappeared from all the threads I just flipped through. How is that possible? I'm a tech dinosaur.
chookchook2- The author can edit or delete their remarks by clicking on the pencil icon or the "X" at the top right hand side of the comment box.
Chook, If you're on an iPad, you first go to Safari (your Apple browser), then to Houzz.com, then to "Your Discussions". Then proceed as bubbasgma says. Hope that helps - I know how it feels to be a tech dinosaur!

Thank you, now if I wasn't so tired! Early to bed tonight. Lasmar coming back? I liked their level headedness. Nice to work with.

Lasmar, what an improvement those shades are on the verticals you had before. I love them and Karemore's suggestions too :-) Just commenting so I can follow progress in your room.

    Serenity now!

    Great advice and design Karemore!

Hi Ladies. All sieglerdesign's comments are gone! Checked her web site, showing this discussion, but none of her comments. Wanted to see what got Margo, mforr, Carolins, and mcbriec to pull the wagons around karemore. I would want them in my corner any day. Was going to ask if anyone still had remarks on screen, but better to leave it as is.
The Ladies always have good ideas, sorry if missed anyone.

Berinlist, There were others, as you'll see above. What a great community!
Karemore, I had met(?) Margo, et al on a previous discussion and love the back and forth banter of over 1,000 comments. They make it feel like your sitting around a kitchen table with good friends talking, instead of miles apart. And they don't hold back if someone steps out of line or did not read all the previous comments or slap them down if someone makes an unkind negative remark.
I have not seem them on other discussions I have read and was nice to see the are still around.
They also have very good ideas!
Oh yes, they're alive and kicking (as you can see!)

Karemore was helping the economy to tick over. Obama will be giving her an award. Karemore, do your upper arm exercises. You might meet Mrs Obama.

See berinlist, here's one now! Hello, chook! I believe I would have to be American to qualify for this award. (You do know I'm Canadian, don't you?). Besides, I haven't personally inspected each and every product....as Margo would say - ("hanging head")
Lasmar is looking over the enormous selection I presented her. It will take her days....maybe weeks!

berinlist- funny, you mention the *sitting around the table like old friends* before Houzz, I never realized how people could come together via the internet and develop such warm, fun relationships. There are many interesting, geniune, great people from all parts of the world on this site. When I find out someone is from the Netherlands, Canada, UK, Australia, US and everywhere in between all talking on one one thread, having so much in common, or in some cases disagreeing, but having fun with it, it is a great day!! Thanks for mentioning that .... you made me smile;)
Margo, some of my best friends are on houzz, right now!
BTW- what part of the world are you in berinlist?

    handymam, mine too')

Just got back from grocery store, Margo, I am glad I made you smile. With you and others it does feel like friends talking. I live in the mountains of North Carolina, south of Ashville. I am a what the people here call a halfback. A Yankee who moved to Florida then move half way back.

Love Houzz, being able to see other peoples exchange ideas. At time light bulbs go off, other times flames come out, but all in all great people!
There are several North Carolina houzzers, have you met any?
Not yet, most of the time I usually just read. Some times, I have been told I am not the most tackfull person. Nor do I have the funds some seem to have. When I see older homes, early 1900, that are being restored, I usually ask the people for more pictures. I love older homes but could never afford to do what some others can and I do not need all that space. I look at them and drool. And animal lovers, we all love to talk about our pets, I have three medium to large dogs, so I can relate.

I like your comments, you have a great eye, pick up quickly on people posting, the little things that make them unique. One posting, I think went off about stink bugs, and the leg lamp. Love that, read every comment. I hope that poster will shows us her finished bedroom soon. So you could say "I follow you".

It is funny how houzzers are from all over, but have similar ideas.

Better watch out for assassin bugs, I've heard some awful stories ;D

Tweeds and navy? Gag. I, for one, LOVE your sofa. So unbelievable cool. If it was mine, I would rotate it so the curve fits into the corner of the room and just go with the flow. And then paint an oversized chevron pattern on the wall with the windows (or hang chevron fabric curtains - "zippy" by Premier Prints in charcoal, perhaps). Love the rug ideas shown by everybody.
I like that Pure home put up velvet navy curtain panels. And navy is hot colour now. It would be the new black but black is still hot. Karemore, I put an obscure reference to yesterday in my last post on " Where do I find quality bedding." If Lasmar takes weeks to look over your suggestions, she may need a holiday in Canada. Think you still qualify for Obama medal if it is the US economy you are stimulating. So do those arm exercises.

Chook, It's funny you keep talking about me doing arm exercises - I have been getting laser treatments on my arm for about two months now. It must have been my other arm that did all that lifting! Or more like just my fingers transferring pics off my Pinterest boards lol!

Lasmar, I knew you were still here - I just knew you were brave and have a great sense of humor (and a lot of patience!) and that you'd be back when ready!

PS: refreshing your page with the odd comment here and there will get you lots of new input and ideas!
