Check out Zephyr, quiet, stylish and they have some lovely budget conscious models.

Thanks for the suggestions. I really appreciate it.

We bought an older home and remodeled the kitchen last year. The electric wall oven is pretty far from the gas stove top. I have a zephyr exhaust over the stove top. Works well. But the oven has no exhaust. It vents into the kitchen like most current models, heats it up, and sometimes sets off the fire alarm 15 ft away when I open the oven door. Cooking odors, good and not so great, circulate through the house. I open the kitchen windows top and bottom, I run the distant ( 12ft.) vent.
I also think that cooking grease from roasts seem to accumulate quicker than in my old oven. My current oven is a Kitchen Aid KEBS107SSS104 the Sears service repairman said it is working normally. Anyone else have this problem? Anyone find a good solution?

One thing you can do is turn the exhaust fan on well in advance of cooking so that the air movement is flowing and if the oven starts to smoke it will be evacuated more efficiently. If you wait to turn on the fan until the smoke appears you are fighting an up hill battle.

Put a lid on your roast and turn the temperature down. You may not be used to the top element coming on to heat the oven.

Thanks for the replies. Fred S, I don't quite understand about the top element? I've never put a lid on a roast beef while roasting it. Wouldn't that change the flavor?
