My first "before and after" ... with no before picture (sorry - just imagine the wall blank with nothing on it).

So, I needed shoe storage in this near-a-door location and didn't want to spend a lot of money. I knew about these 8" deep IKEA shoe units (holds 12 pairs), but thought they came only in white. I was resigned to have to paint it, and was pleasantly surprised when I got to IKEA and saw them in espresso. $129 and 2 hours of assembly later (yes, 2 HOURS) and I had a shoe cabinet! I did order new hardware for it, as what came with it was very cheap looking ($30).

The beveled mirror and lamp are from HomeGoods ($100 and $39 respectively), and the tray, clock and mother of pearl ornaments were from Marshalls (maybe $50 total).

So from 'nothing' to this functional and pretty entry area for under $350. I'm really pleased with it -- hope you like it too!
