dona1234, the issue is that someone asked the question with a photo that is almost identical to this one. So it would have taken some investigation on your part to find the answer. You are right Alex, it would be best for homeowners to look at questions for an image they like. The answer may already be there since often the same questions get asked multiple times, especially when it comes to paint colors. I agree being able to tag walls with paint colors would be great since it is the most common question.

I would also recommend that home owners are polite when asking professionals for free advise. Please and thank you go a long way. :)

I would like to note that just because a question may not be asked in a way that one deems polite, should not mean it's okay to answer the question with a lack of politeness. In those cases, it might even be best to not answer the question. I think it's important to consider the intent of the person asking. I highly doubt the person asked the question with the intent to be rude. The question was likely asked because he/she loved the paint color in a room you designed, which is a compliment to you. I unfollowed you as a result of the way the question was answered.

We always answer all questions with the information available. A brief answer is a reflection of busy professionals needing to take time away from work and therefore simply answering the question at hand.

However, I would assume that someone wanting such resources from a designer or architect would not call their office just shouting "what is the wall color", or "where can I get this table". An online forum should be no different. Houzz is wonderful place for home owners doing research for their design and remodeling projects. Some just need to consider that professionals generally get paid for their advice, and therefore it should not be taken for granted. The requested information is not alway right at hand and can take some time to find. My point was that your suggestion of being able to tag wall colors was a good one saving time for both sides, but also that manners should be considered when asking for a favor.

Thank You for coming to my defense alex511. You are correct I love the paint color which I have been searching for along time. I came across this forum by mistake and it is a wonderful help. As for the Adeeni Design Group, maybe you should consider because of the "what color is the wall" perhaps the person (which is me) has a disability. So what my seem too most people a simple thing to type complete sentences/or paragraphs, it is not for me, my fingers have a hard time being controlled. For me I need to get to the point with as few words as possible being typed. I hope you take this into consideration the next time you think someone is "shouting" out questions, please be advised they probably are not. It's just a person seeking out a beautiful color but has difficulty conveying the question due to a disability. As for "manners should be considered" I think you should re-evaluate yourself on that one. You have no idea how long this took me to type... BUT I felt I needed to respond to this.

While you are in the minority, I feel that for most others the brevity in their request is simply a choice. My point was for them to consider a similar level of politeness they would employ when making such requests on the phone or via email. Please know that my request was not directed at you directly, but was rather more general.

I agree. I am sadden by her behavior. If she doesn't want lowly homeowners to "shout" our questions maybe she should take herself and pictures off of houzz. My sister is the head interior designer at a top builder and she would never act this was. It's a shame!!!

I would just like to say that I always appreciate the professionals who take time from there busy schedules to answer questions and I know the paint question is most frequent. I usually check several pics from same job and see if the paint is listed. Everyone should do that as a courtesy to the pros who are giving free advice.mi don't like the tone of the people asking and coming to the defense of (please) the person who asked. Everyone needs to be polite and professional on both sides and remember this is FREE advice and pros are gracious enough to answer. I do love it when the walls are tagged. Thanks
