Can you tell me what the name of the tile floor is? I love it!

The Floor is a natural slate. It is 16" by 16" and to save on costs, we had it site cut in half to 8 by 16 and ran it in a running bond pattern. we picked a medium grey with hints of beiges and avoided blue. Regarding the name: Names of some slates and stones are often changed from proprietor to proprietor. This is because being a natural material, color, graining and clefting (this is the unevenness on the face) can vary greatly. This is also why often you cannot shop around by phone for certain stones. This being one of them. For all natural stones that we choose, it warrants a trip to the supplier to pick the stone. Three VERY important things that we do regarding this. First make sure the stone that is displayed or that they show you is of the same lot as what they will supply. If is isn't get the samples. 2, We insist that for our clients that the supplier provide samples of the RANGE of stone (the darkest and the lightest etc). This is because you may be looking at one tile that does not represent the average of the lot especially if the lot that has great range. 3, make sure that your selected lot has enough square footage for your needs before you consider it. Ordering more would mean a different lot and the stones may not match. The stone you see here was a third visit to a supplier. Ironically it was requesting the range that sold us on the choice which seemed appropriate here.

Hi! You mention in your answer regarding the tiles, that you avoided any blue, which makes me wonder if a large cupboard painted this lovely green in my kitchen would work with my existing faint blue walls and white trim...or would that create a baby nursery type palette?
