We have a room above the garage that falls somewhat in between the first and second floor of the house. It is just off the kitchen and great room and was perfect as a playroom when the kids were small. Now the toys are gone as the kids are teen/tween and we need to transform this space. I was thinking a media/game room, but the space is awkward. The "stage" is a nightmare. Just collects junk and random games. I want to create built in media space & book shelves. Contractor suggested a bar, which I'm not thrilled about but DH thinks it's a great idea. Any suggestions? The overall room is roughly 23' x 19' (minus the little nook behind the stage). We have a ping pong table, but isn't used very frequently, so I don't want to force a design around that! It should be a family space, but I believe it will primarily be used by the kids (they have friends over/slumber party every weekend). Tried to find ideas on Houzz, but I'm at a loss. Thanks!
