island seating

thinking of doing this with my kitchen…do the owners have a separate dining area or do they do all their dining at the island? If I give up my dining area I will have a 20x13 space for a big island, but not sure if I will miss my separate table….

    Where is the doorway from dining to kitchen? I love this layout, but I'm concerned for my home the island may get in the way from dining room to kitchen. Also, in this layout, is there a small kitchen table or do they use the island for all informal dining?
