Kitchen Island Seating - Corner Posts or Cantilever?

We are building a kitchen island and want seating for four - two on the end and two on the sides (just like the photos). Our question is whether to build a little box under the seating side of the island to support the island or put posts in the corners (this island actually has both - not sure why).

Dan, I think you should check with your kitchen people to see how they feel about cantelever, the posts are to support the weight of the granite or marble to ensue it never cracks with the weight of 4 people leaning on it or a teen deciding to hop up and sit down.
