For guest bath it might be ideal to have a shower / tub combination.

Do you have a tub in the other bathroom? I would take into consideration the needs of potential guests who would need to bathe. If you have elderly or disabled guests, perhaps they would appreciate a walk in shower. If the guest bath is the only one with a tub, I agree with Dytecture.

lovely!! Space is a huge limitation in our space. This is a small condo that we will spend some winter months in and occasionally other times. But we have grandchildren and may rent infrequently. Toilet is very close to tub now so we really wont eak out any additional space for shower, may simply be a visual gain, if any

I vote to keep a tub.

I am a fan of showers. We have a beach place too and never think of a soaking tub there. Question: If this is a vacation home for you and your family and grandchildren, how often do you or they use the tub now? I have never needed a tub for my children when on a beach vacation and we still have no need for one now that we have a beach condo. There are plenty of units in our village with tubs, but only because there has been no remodeling, so old tubs with showers and shower curtains.

We recently updated our 2 bedroom 2 bath condo. We left a tub/shower in the guest bath, some renters have grandchildren and sometimes a soak is just what you need. In the master we did a beautiful shower only and gave us some sorely need room for towels etc. Didnt go crazy on the nozzle like a carwash but did include a tile seat and good lighting so shaving legs is now a breeze.
